Russian superheroes "Marvel": a list

Many characters of Russian origin appeared on the pages of Marvel comics. The most famous became, mainly due to the film industry, Black Widow, a former Russian spy. But not only Russian superheroes appeared in American comics, there were many supervillains. For example, Red Omega, Rhino, Chameleon and many others. However, we want to emphasize right away that it will be superheroes that are discussed below.

1. Black Widow

Natalya Romanova, or Black Widow - Russian superhero. Initially, she was an employee of the KGB, then she turned out to be on the side of the SHIELD (anti-crime organization), becoming its agent. The next period - she spied in the SHIELD for the KGB, being considered a double agent of the SHIELD.

Not endowed with any superpowers, except for the fact that once she was introduced an analogue of the very serum with which Captain America was created. However, he has a sharp mind, good physical fitness, owns many types of firearms and cold steel.

As noted above, today this is the most popular Marvel hero of Russian origin, thanks to films about the Avengers and the game Scarlett Johansson.

2. The Colossus

russian superheroes marvel list

Peter Rasputin, or Colossus, is a Russian superhero from the X-Men team. The main ability is turning your body into metal, becoming invulnerable to most physical attacks.

Peter was born in Soviet times on the shore of Lake Baikal, on the collective farm of Ust-Orda. It was from here that he was later abducted by Charles Xavier, the founder of the X-Men.

Despite all his strength, Peter is distinguished by a peaceful and calm disposition. Not to mention the fact that he gave his life for his sentimentality. His sister died from a terrible virus called Heritage. After some time, an experimental antidote was received from him. For testing, an experimental subject was needed, and Colossus immediately volunteered. As a result, he died in terrible agony. Fortunately, it later turned out that Peter's dead body was frozen, not cremated. This made it possible for the X-Men to abduct him and resurrect him.

The adventures of Colossus in Russia of the post-perestroika period are interesting. This was requested by the hero of his distant relative Larisa Mishchenko. Someone systematically began to exterminate all the relatives of Peter. When the Colossus arrived at home, it turned out that he was one of the heirs of that same Grishka Rasputin. Sinister (supervillain opposing the X-Men) decided to resurrect Grishka, for which he needed to destroy all his descendants. Of course, Colossus did everything so that his ancestor would forever remain in his grave.

3. Red Guard

Russian superhero Ilya Muromets

Another Russian Marvel superhero is the Red Guard. Under this name at different times hid three people. This character was created as the Soviet counterpart to Captain America. Their costumes are similar - both resemble the flag of the country they are defending; names are similar; both of them have the same origin - superpowers gave them serum.

The first Red Guard was Alexei Shostakovich. He was the husband of Natalya Romanova, who was informed that he had died, although in fact he became the object of a secret experiment. It was in memory of her husband that Natalya became a scout.

Sometimes Alexei is referred to as representatives of antiheroes. This is due to the fact that he very often had to fight with America, defending the interests of his homeland. Nevertheless, before his death, he would save the life of Captain America by not allowing him to be shot.

The next Red Guard is Vladimir Fomin. By that time, the serum was lost, so he received no superpowers, except for his own strength and endurance.

And the last Red Guard is Nikolay Krylenko. As a weapon he used a sickle and a hammer. He was a mutant and could fight such superheroes as the Hulk or Iron Man.

4. Blind Faith

Alexey Garnov - Russian superhero ("Marvel"), acting during the Soviet era. The government of the Soviet Union decided that the threat posed by the mutants was too great. This led to the beginning of the mass extermination of mutants. However, the most interesting representatives of the species were brought to Moscow, where Wolfgang Weinrich, a former Nazi, conducted experiments on them.

One of those who could openly oppose the new regime was a Catholic priest, a mutant who owns telepathy and empathy, - Alexey Garnov. He helps his brothers and begins cooperation with American saboteurs.

His nickname came from the fact that when he took control of the consciousness of a group of people, his eyes began to glow white.

5. Kraven-Hunter

The last Russian Marvel superhero on our list is Sergey Kravinov, better known as Kraven-Okhotnik.

By origin - a Russian nobleman. From his youth Kravinov was fond of hunting, but gradually this hobby grew into a real passion. Kraven does not recognize firearms and prefers to meet the beast face to face. That is why he often uses poisons and cunning traps. At one time, he took a special serum, which allowed him to gain animal power.

Kraven is often attributed to villains due to the fact that he hunted Spider-Man. It was this hero that the avid hunter considered a prey worthy of himself. However, this character is not entirely unambiguous, he was on the side of good.

Original Russian superheroes

Russian superhero from the X-Men team

Not so long ago in Russia they started talking about the fact that we and our superheroes always had enough. Of course, the closest attention was paid to the three epic heroes. And the expression "Russian superhero Ilya Muromets" can be found today almost everywhere.

In addition, very often the β€œtitle” of a superhero is attributed to fairy-tale characters. For example, Ivan the Fool, the Frog Princess, Moidodyr, Kolobok, Kurochka Ryaba (for her ability to lay golden eggs is clearly a humorous move) and many others. Even Aibolit is credited with superpowers. However, the talents of such superheroes are described very ironically.

And if the epic heroes are taken quite seriously - their strength can really compete with the abilities of American superheroes - then raising fairy-tale characters to the rank of superheroes is clearly satirical.

Tomorrow

Continuing the satirical theme, we must not forget about one of the most famous primordially Russian heroes with a speaking name - Tomorrow. A Russian superhero with such a nickname, of course, refers to the characteristic trait of the Russian people - to leave things for tomorrow.

Tomorrow is not a comic book hero, rather, it is a kind of mythological half-hiding character. It is not surprising that he was born, one might say, among the people.

Thus, in Russia there are not only comic book characters, but also fairy-tale characters who are credited with superpowers.
