Since the 1990s, Russia has been awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation for committing a heroic deed throughout the country. History
The title of Hero of the Russian Federation was established on March 20, 1992 and was put into effect on the same day. This is the highest award of all existing in the country. Statistics
As of November 15, 2018, the total number of famous Heroes of Russia is 1,100 citizens, of which 480 received a posthumous award. It is impossible to find out how many total holders of this status exist, since not all presidential decrees on this score are published officially. Many awards for secrecy remain unknown.
Among those awarded the title are military personnel, astronauts, participants in various military operations, scouts, athletes and scientists.
Governmental support
Citizens who have received the highest state award throughout the next life are entitled to numerous privileges. The benefits provided to the Heroes of the Russian Federation are described in detail in the Law of the Russian Federation No. 4301-I of 01/15/1993. These are cash payments, and various compensations for the payment of utility, medical and other services, and special rights in carrying out labor activities. Taxation
For the Heroes of the Russian Federation, the tax burden is much easier than for other citizens of the country. Holders of the title are exempt from paying state duties and do not pay tax on residential and non-residential real estate (unless it is used in commercial activities). In some entities, tax benefits have been extended to the Heroes of the Russian Federation, for example, tolls and land tax are not levied.
The medicine

The heroes of the Russian Federation are entitled to a free overhaul of housing and a priority vacation of building materials in case of construction of a residential building. Such categories of citizens should, without queue, install home telephones and equip their homes with alarm systems.
Transport
Awarded ranks can travel twice a year by rail, water, air or road transport, use city trams, trolleybuses, buses, water crossings, metro, electric trains and, in the countryside, intraregional buses. In addition, they are entitled to an extraordinary purchase of tickets for all types of transport. Privileges for Heroes of the Russian Federation also provide for free use of the lounges of increased comfort at train stations and airports.
Labor activity
In the event of a reduction, holders of the highest state award have priority in remaining at work, regardless of how long they worked in this organization. Upon liquidation of the enterprise, they must be employed in the first place.
Heroes of the Russian Federation at the place of work are provided with free additional vocational education and training. Such citizens can take a vacation at a convenient time for themselves, and they also have the right to additional leave without saving their salaries for up to three weeks a year. In case of successful exams, children of the awarded title have the preemptive right to enroll in military educational organizations.
Other benefits
The heroes of the Russian Federation are supposed to use the services of trade, consumer services and communications enterprises extraordinary. Out of turn, they can be served in sports and recreation facilities, as well as in free and out of turn visits to art galleries, state museums, exhibition centers and halls.

EDV is established and paid by the Pension Fund at the request of the Hero of the Russian Federation. Its size is subject to annual indexation. Since February 1, 2019, the amount of payment has been increased and currently amounts to 63 708.25 rubles. To receive EDV, you must submit an application to the territorial body of the RF PF. Payment will be scheduled from January 1 of next year.
It must be remembered that receiving EDV entails the abolition of most benefits. But some privileges remain with the owners of the title of Hero in any case. These include:

DEMO
Title holders are also entitled to other benefits and payments. Heroes of the Russian Federation in 2018 and 2019. monthly received and are receiving 20 892.14 rubles as additional material support. DEMO depends on social pension, since it is set at 415 percent of it.
Support for families of Heroes of the Russian Federation
The Russian state is worried not only about the awarded, but also about their family members. In the event of the death of the Hero of the Russian Federation, the payments paid to him are not canceled, but transferred to relatives and divided proportionally between them.
Family members who are eligible to receive benefits and material security include:
- widow or widower;
- parents;
- children under the age of eighteen, and in the case of full-time education, up to the age of twenty three;
- adult children with disabilities under the age of eighteen.
These relatives choose at their discretion: to receive natural benefits in full or EDV and a reduced set of privileges. The cash payment laid down by the Hero of the Russian Federation is divided proportionally between family members. In case of refusal of EDV in favor of in-kind benefits, each of the above-mentioned relatives receives a lump sum in the amount of twenty thousand rubles.
