Responsibilities of a citizen. What are they?

A democratic government is created to serve the people. However, such a system of government implies certain duties of a citizen, which he must strictly fulfill. Otherwise, government will not be possible. However, in addition to obligations, the population has certain freedoms, in particular, the right to disagree with the work of the government and express its dissatisfaction in public.

Note that if a person is a citizen of a democratic country, this requires him to behave correctly, be patient and participate in the life of the state. All responsibilities of citizens are agreed upon, i.e. every person, when he agrees to the citizenship of a certain country, automatically accepts all conditions of existence in it.

In addition, people also accept that democracy requires certain costs and efforts from the population, because it needs constant support and control from the people.

The legislation of some countries provides that citizens must sit in a jury for a certain period of time, as well as be in civil and military service. However, the duties of a citizen do not end there. One of the main points in this scheme is compliance with the law. Then, among others, they call obligatory payment of taxes, recognition of the government, respect for the views of others, which are radically different from the generally accepted.

Every citizen must be aware that he is responsible for the society in which they live. Because of this, they can rely on the fact that their rights will be protected.

Note that the rights and duties of a citizen should be realized in practice. Each of us should be an active member of society, because the success of the government and the degree of productivity of its work depend on this. The public servants should be aware that all citizens are equal before the law, and therefore deserve the same attitude. The issue of a bribe, which is categorically unacceptable in a democratic society, occupies not the last place on this issue.

It is also the duty of a citizen of a democratic state to peacefully protest against a government that does not suit him according to one or another criteria. Another way out of this situation is to actively participate in the elections, which allows you to change political leaders within the time period established by law.

We note that every citizen has the right to join the party he has chosen in accordance with his political views and to take an active part in its activities. As a party member, a person can run for a certain post and be in power for a certain period of time regulated by law. In order to express their opinion on issues of local or national importance, citizens can use the free press. In addition, you can join private organizations that express their interests (sports, cultural, religious). All these groups operate within the state and contribute to the development of the country and its position in the international arena.

Note that all the rights and obligations of a citizen are described and characterized in the relevant legislation of a particular country. It is such a document that officially regulates those provisions that provide each resident with the opportunity to realize themselves in society and receive protection of their own rights.

The population of a democratic state has certain freedoms that guarantee him the ability to regulate the system of power and actively participate in its change.
