Firstly, you should never take those models that are equipped with an iron fuel tank, which is covered with a thin layer of copper. Even in the kerosene version they are fraught with fire, and even the use of a gasoline burner with a leaky fuel tank is a direct route to the burn center.
Do not forget that the primus is a source of increased danger, and therefore approach its choice with the utmost discretion.
If there are no special caps on the burner, then you should not buy such a product. In general, look at the integrity of the handles, the absence of broken or crumpled parts. You should also not take the old stove without legs, because constant fussing with stands is not only inconvenient, but sooner or later it will end in fire, when the filled primus stove falls off, filling everything surrounding with fuel.
But if you found the same “Record” in good condition, then you can rejoice, because the machine is actually eternal, there’s simply nothing to break. But even taking into account this fact, be sure to check the condition of the cuff on the handle of the fuel pump, and if it is not in the best condition, then cut out the replacement from the boot of the old leather boot.
