Blueberries have incredible taste, they like to eat fresh and processed. From the fruits you get delicious jam, jams, compotes; berries are frozen, dried or dried. Blueberry gardening, planting and care of which has a number of features, is an excellent medicinal raw material, because it contains organic acids, vitamins B1, C, A, pectin and tannins. Due to so many positive properties, growing blueberries in gardeners is gaining more and more popularity. However, not everyone knows how to do it right.
Planting Blueberry Bushes
Oddly enough, blueberry bushes are rarely found on sale. Since blueberries and blueberries are very similar, sometimes they pass one to the other. What to do in this situation? You can dig a bush from the forest and plant it in your country house. It is important to dig up only a young plant and together with a lump of earth. The best time for a transplant is the end of summer or the beginning of autumn. Forest blueberry bushes are planted in loose acidic soil
(horse peat or its mixture with sawdust, fallen needles, bark, foliage or sand). 2-3 grams of sulfur are added to 1 bucket of soil mixture, and before planting, the ground is watered with water mixed with food acid. The bushes should be planted in rows, the distance between which should be 2 meters. The landing pit should be 50x60 in size, and its depth should be no more than 45 cm.
Caring for Blueberry Bushes
Garden blueberries, planting and care of which are meticulous, need regular (once a month) watering with the addition of acid (citric, oxalic, vinegar or apple). A soil layer of 10-15 cm should be constantly moist, but not wet. In order to keep moisture better, it is possible to mulch the
earth with bark, sawdust, foliage or fallen needles. The layer of mulch should reach 3-5 cm. Garden blueberries, planting and care of which are carried out incorrectly, for example, with waterlogging of the soil for two days, may well die. Drying also affects it not in the best way. The plant should grow in shaded areas, under the trees. If this is not possible, and blueberries will grow in the sun, in the summer the bushes need to be sprayed from the spray 3-4 times a day so that they do not die from drying out. The culture perfectly tolerates frosts, so it does not need winter shelter. You can not plant blueberry bushes under fruit trees, because the plant does not tolerate organic fertilizers. But pines and
deciduous trees as a shelter from the heat are quite suitable.
Pruning garden blueberries
Blueberry bushes are prone to cutting of bony growths, weak and diseased branches. Such a procedure will have an extremely beneficial effect on how garden blueberries will bear fruit. Planting and caring for this crop are not particularly difficult, and crops from one bush can be harvested even 2 times during the summer with an interval of 2 weeks. Blueberry bushes are very decorative, so you can trim them not only to get a rich harvest, but also with the aim of creating a unique
design for a personal plot.
