The hero of today's story was born in 1928 in a peasant family. Parents of the future writer Anatoly Ivanov on the collective farm were not, but engaged in arable farming. Father was in charge of the regional department of Soyuzpechat.
After leaving school, Ivanov left for Alma-Ata, where he entered the faculty of journalism. Began to print in the late forties. In the beginning, these were small notes in the “Irtysh truth”.
Ivanov's first artwork was published in 1954. It was the story "Peasant Woman". Then in one of the literary magazines appeared “Alkiny Songs” and other beginner's stories the writer.
Anatoly Ivanov became famous after the release of the novel "Overlord", which was later translated into Czech, Bulgarian, Romanian, French and other languages. Books by writer Anatoly Ivanov highly appreciated by Soviet critics. He received the first State Prize in 1971. Later he was repeatedly awarded high awards. So, he got one of them for the script for the film " Eternal Call. "Writer Anatoly Ivanov a year before the start of perestroika, received the title "Hero of Socialist Labor". In addition, for the same "Eternal Call" would be awarded the KGB Prize.

"Eternal Call"
The first part was published in 1971. The second - after five years. The novel of Soviet prose writer covers important events in Russian history. This work shows the Civil War, the Great Patriotic War, and the fifties. The main characters are the Savelyev brothers: Fedor, Anton, Ivan. One of them is on the side of the White Guards, who, of course, are shown as negative characters. But even he, following the example of his brothers, later becomes a communist and takes an active part in the struggle for the ideals of the revolution.
The book has many characters. There are, of course, negative ones, those that do not want to live in harmony with Soviet ideals. But there are few of them. The book was written 50 years ago, however, today readers leave positive feedback about it.
"Shadows disappear at noon"
At the heart of this novel is the story of the inhabitants of a Siberian village called Zeleny Dol. This book also reflects the fate of the Soviet people. The first chapters talk about the last years of the existence of tsarist Russia. Then the heroes find themselves in a whirlpool of events such as the Civil War and collectivization. The events of the Second World War are also shown.
The heroes of the novel are the heirs of wealthy Siberian families. They manage to escape from the "red terror", settle under other people's documents in a small taiga village. Former "fists" are convinced that Soviet power will not last long. But they are known to be mistaken. Power grows stronger, decades pass, representatives of the young generation build their own lives, and their ideals diverge from the ideals of their fathers. The novel was published in 1973.
"The overlord"
It is easy to guess that this book also tells about people who survived the revolution, the war. The heroes of the novel "Overlord" are residents of a small provincial village. At the beginning, the events accompanying the overthrow of the king are shown. During the years of the revolution, and even later, already in the early forties, residents of remote regions of the country learned the news very late. The book by Anatoly Ivanov interestingly tells about how the peasants perceived the change of power, how they tried to adapt to a new life.
Between the "red" and "white" is a struggle. First of all, the villagers who are forced to work and give grain to the needs of the St. Petersburg revolutionaries and the needs of the Kolchak army suffer from it. The hero of the novel is Grigory Borodin, a greedy and cowardly man. That is why the work is called "The Overlord", which means weed, which, growing, destroys a good plant. Gregory’s life goes in pursuit of wealth, for which he was punished.

Ivanov worked on the book Ermak for five years. This work was published in 1993.
Adaptations
One of the most famous TV shows of the Soviet era is Eternal Call, filmed at Mosfilm in the seventies. Filming lasted almost ten years. The script was written by Anatoly Ivanov in collaboration with Konstantin Isaev. A huge number of actors were involved in the filming, including such well-known as O. Basilashvili, V. Borisov, N. Kustinskaya.
