Rosa Westerland or Westerland belong to the family of modern large-flowered climbing varieties of the common rose. From her sisters, ordinary roses, she is distinguished by her bright cheerful gentle apricot, sunny, warm orange or salmon pink, coral shade of petals, with a very pleasant, fairly strong aroma. The size of the flower itself can be quite large and up to twelve centimeters. The shape of the flower is medium-sized, cupped, collected in a small inflorescence, which immediately catches the eye, highlighting this flower from the total mass, if ordinary roses in pots grow nearby.
Caring for such a rose implies that it can bloom profusely from the beginning of summer until the end of autumn. At this time, you can observe the strong growth of its bush, which will consist of dark green leaves. The height of the bushes can reach one and a half meters. The room rose categorically does not tolerate drafts, so do everything possible to avoid them.
Rosa Westerland can be perfectly grown in residential (home) conditions, of course, in this case it will be distinguished by a much smaller size. Before you start cultivating decorative roses in pots, you should make sure that you can create comfortable conditions for it. To get started, itβs enough for some time not to transplant the rose you bought from the pot in which you bought it.
A very important point is the correct transplantation of roses into a new pot. Its size should not be large. After transplanting, it is necessary to provide a shadow place for the flower. To do this, put a pot of roses on the windowsill of a window that faces north.
After two weeks, when the adaptation of the rose in pots has occurred, the care for it should be like that. First you need to feed the plants, this is usually done using two methods:
- a method of feeding the roots,
- spraying.
When growing roses in pots at home , care for it will include constant and high-quality watering. Pruning of roses is recommended to be done twice a year. The first pruning should be carried out with the advent of February, and the second - at the beginning of flowering plants.
Growing a room rose is considered successful if its flowering does not stop. From spring to the end of summer, you should take care of it in the same way as roses growing in the open ground. It must be provided with maximum lighting and humidity, as well as an influx of fresh air. It is necessary to regularly remove dried and sluggish flowers so that the flowering process takes as long as possible.
When propagating roses in pots, caring for them implies that at the end of spring green cuttings must be rooted in clean sand and covered with a glass shelter. In this state, they should remain for three to four weeks. Then they need to be planted in small pots. The soil should be turf with a small admixture of sand. Until the rose takes root, it must be shaded. After the roots are tightly formed, having strengthened in an earthen coma, the plant can be transplanted into a larger pot.
If you are engaged in cultivating room roses in pots, care must be supported by the presence of good nutritious soil, preferably if it contains humus, peat, sand and charcoal. The use of drainage is also mandatory.
The main condition for the successful growth of Westerland roses will be the presence of intense sunlight and clean fresh air. The temperature preferred for roses is considered to be no more than twenty-five degrees, but in no case should roses overheat. To do this, you need regular ventilation of the room and it is desirable that the pot with a rose stands on a window facing east or west.
