Bulgarian pepper. Growing seedlings
Vegetables are grown by seedlings and then, depending on the situation, are planted in open ground or under a film. How to grow bell pepper seedlings?
First you need to determine the time of sowing. Pepper is a photophilous plant. This means that seeding is optimal when the daylight hours are large. Gardeners begin to sow seedlings in the month of March. If you start to sow earlier, it may be fragile and weakly growing due to lack of lighting.
Seedlings "bell pepper" are grown in different ways: it can be planted in light wooden crates or in medium-sized pots. It is imperative to place seedling bushes on a well-lit side, preferably in the sun, otherwise you will have to create artificial lighting. The soil must be fed with wood ash mixed with sand and humus, based on a ratio of 1: 1: 2. To accelerate seed growth, the surface of the earth must be thoroughly heated. For this, the soil is preliminarily filled with hot water, and the outgoing steam is collected under a film covered from above.
As soon as the soil is moistened and becomes warm, you need to start planting seeds. A soil ball of earth (approximately 10 cm), placed in a potted container or box, is leveled, then compacted so as to plow deep grooves in it. The distance between them should be sufficient for a dive (about 5 cm will be quite enough). Then seedlings "bell pepper" are sown one and a half centimeters deep into the furrow. Try not to go deep so that the seeds can grow. After sifting out, the recesses can be lightly covered with soil solution, which fed the rest of the soil. Well, one should not forget about watering, on which the normal maturation of shoots depends.
Experienced gardeners heal the soil with growth accelerators. These drugs increase the viability of young seedlings. In order to protect the soil from drying out on the surface, seedlings "bell pepper" are covered with a film under which it is contained until the first shoots sprout.
As soon as the first leaves begin to appear on the bushes, pepper can be dived. This process increases the amount of fruiting seedlings. Now you need primary dressing of plants. Secondary is carried out a week after the first healing of seedlings before planting in open ground.
For pepper seedlings, it is necessary to regulate the temperature and air access under the roots. The soil should not be dry, as well as too moist. Between the rows the soil should be loosened all the time. If the air warms up to a suitable temperature, the shoots take shelter from the effects of solar heat and shade. An important role in planting and further growth of seeds is played by their variety. Modern varieties of bell pepper are based on hybrids that are better resistant to disease and more resilient.
Growing seedlings of bell pepper, you should be extremely careful with the pick. If the seeds were sifted out in continuous, it is better not to dive. Replanting, one way or another, deforms the root system of seedlings, because of which it begins to grow slowly. It is recommended to use small plastic containers, from which the seedlings can be easily moved to a larger space without affecting the roots.
