There are decent and not so good words in Russian. Of course, the former are more pleasant to explain, but the latter also need interpretation. There is nothing to be done, but today we will tell the reader about the meaning of the word “Shabold”.
Meaning
The dictionary says that this definition has two meanings:
- In the southern regions of our country the so-called talker. Currently considered obsolete. True, in the first sense the word is pronounced a little wrong. They say: "Shabalda."
- Same as a prostitute.
In youth slang it is used exclusively in the second meaning. Anyway, we don’t think that the first meaning is known to anyone except those who are involved in regional dialects or Russian folk art, but this, of course, is interesting.
In some sources, it is touchingly written that the meaning of the word “Shabold” is a euphemism for the words “whore” and “prostitute”. But, given the general sound of the words, it is not clear which of them is rougher.
For example, Anton Pavlovich Chekhov admitted that he does not like whistling and hissing sounds, so he tries to use as few words as possible with them. Even from the point of view of sound recording, our object of study is extremely dissonant.
Signs of a girl of easy virtue
If we talk about the definition of “shabold”, then this is a girl who can both give herself professionally for money and just be a woman of not the most outstanding moral qualities. But the problem is that when it comes to morality, disputes begin about who to consider a libertine. But usually there are no special torments here, because representatives of this class of girls can be recognized by the following signs:
- Bright, almost warlike makeup.
- Vulgar style in clothes.
- Such women do not follow the language, often resorting to obscene expressions.
- Do not mind drinking at someone else's expense.
- Easily accessible, quickly tear the distance, especially if they sense the benefits.
The image was drawn one more. I must say that the portrait captures a certain limiting version. It also recalls the epoch-making phrase from the movie “Drunk”: “Remember that I'm leaving with someone who has whiskey.” But in the movie, the heroine that Faye Dunaway brilliantly performed is an ordinary alcoholic.
When it comes to the meaning of the word “chabold”, then it can be understood as quite decent girls who use sex as a product or tool to achieve their goals.
For example, if a girl fundamentally does not meet with impoverished students, then those in revenge may call her a shabold. But, strictly speaking, she is not obliged to prefer romantic walks under the moon and foggy prospects to expensive jewelry and fine restaurants. Here everyone builds his own scale of values, relying on ideas about what is due or ideal.
The heroine of the film “Pretty Woman” as an example of a prostitute whom the viewer sympathizes with
It is clear that the whole story is a fairy tale about Cinderella in a new way. By the way, it’s already possible to shoot a remake in time. It is also clear that Julia Roberts is such a “call girl” that she immediately wants to save.
But in fact, at the beginning of the story, she, too, seemed rather vulgar. High boots, a short skirt, militant makeup, but then the girl was miraculously transformed. And the matter is not so much in money as in a good, kind attitude towards a person.
Perhaps, behind all those signs that we indicated a little earlier, there is a great human tragedy. In other words, it’s very easy to insult someone by calling it a shabold (the meaning of the word is already known), but it’s much harder to understand.
We caution the reader: from the foregoing, one should not conclude that all prostitutes must be saved, because one must understand the differences between fiction and harsh reality. We just want people to be less rude to each other for no good reason.
