Over the years, World of Warcraft has pleased its players not only with content and attitude towards them, but also with the constancy of their policies. The same applies to multi-player dungeons. However, after the cataclysm in 2010 (addition), many dungeons changed not only in the models of opponents, but also in the mechanics of the battle with them. The Dark Fang Fortress (in the common people of the CPC) was no exception. Today we will tell you everything you need to know about her.
Penetration
The first thing newcomers to the Warcraft world need to know is how to get into the Shadowfang Keep. In the time before the Cataclysm, the Worgen lair was located here, however, they were all exterminated, and evil took their place. This dungeon in the original version is one of the first to be faced by the player.
In order to enter the CPC, you will need at least level 10. Is it worth it - you decide. On the one hand, you will be of little use due to the low level of your weapons, but on the other hand, if you have a group ready to poke you at the dungeon, this can be a good farm.
In addition, there is a small feature. Despite the fact that you can go inside from the 10th level of development, you can use automatic selection in the dungeon only from the 16th. And things fall there on the characters of the 16th lvl.
Location
If you still decide to go into this dungeon until the moment when it becomes possible to use the selection, you will have to look for the entrance to the Dark Fang Fortress yourself.
This dungeon is located in the south of Serebryany Bor location at the coordinates [45; 68]. Getting to it is not difficult - no one has canceled the road. Unfortunately, in this case, you will have to bypass all living things - ask the locals where the Dark Fang Fortress will fail.
Continuing the theme of relevance of the dungeon, it is also worth mentioning that the speed of pumping characters is high enough to spend their time on it regularly. It will be easier to come here at the 21st level, while receiving all the related quests.
Training
This item is not intended for beginners, but for those who go to the Darkfang Fortress on heroic difficulty.
It is immediately worth noting that having a good heal in a group is very welcome. One of the features of most opponents is damage, depending on your maximum health, so the ability to quickly and much heal will be especially valuable.
You will also need classes that can interrupt castes - preferably 2 pieces, not considering the heals. They will already have something to do.
A thick tank is another prerequisite. Some monsters beat very painfully, and called-up “add-ons” on some bosses can easily send the entire group to the forefathers.
First fight
We already mentioned that the dungeon has undergone major changes. Instead of the usual worgen players, the Forsaken of all kinds and stripes will be waiting for us, and the old inhabitants will now also serve as guards in the form of ghosts.
So you are in Darkfang Keep. The entrance will be immediately guarded by the boss - Baron Ashbury. Skeleton in black windings and with a cone hat, which witches usually wear. According to player reviews, he is one of the two most powerful dungeon bosses. How to beat him? We will not list all of his abilities, but simply make a short list of recommendations to combat them.
The battle begins. The whole group should get up "in the boss" or at least not run away, since the heal must be able to reach everyone, and mass healing will come in handy.
Let's start with the most unpleasant feature - auras. Throughout the battle, a debuff will form on the group, increasing the damage from boss spells. One could say that with a sleeve tank this is not a problem, but the following feature comes into play here.
At 20% health, Ashbury transforms and takes on a new form. He ceases to cause direct damage to the tank or other characters, but then once a second begins to give a mass spell on everyone. At this stage, it will be necessary to quickly finish it off.
But as long as you lose your health up to 20%, it will take a decent time, and the battle will be very difficult. In addition to auto attacks on the tank, the baron will periodically use a combination of strokes:
- Pain and misery. The boss concentrates on one enemy and begins to inflict damage on him every 0.5 seconds, growing exponentially. Here you need to focus the ally, focusing on the debuff.
- Immediately after this, the "samokhil" caste begins. 25% health of the baron is restored. He needs to be urgently brought down.
A mass combination is also used.
- Choking reduces the health of all allies to 1.
- After this, a massive heal begins. Heals everyone around, including Ashbury himself, at 10% per second. It is necessary to bring down at the right time so that the heal has time to restore everyone.
After defeating this opponent, you can go to the WoW dungeon "Fortress of the Dark Fang." Entrance will be open.
Simplicity is the key to success
When you reach the next boss, you will be surprised how simple it is compared to the previous one. Baron Srebrolen has only two abilities, and even those are very funny.
From time to time, a random member of the group is hung up with a debuff that deals damage and reduces incoming healing by 75%. The debuff must be removed and healed by the party member.
Every 25% of the lost health, the boss calls an assistant. The first two can be captured simply by massive strikes. But the latter too often “hides in the shadows”, so just spit on it and drain the boss under all possible buffs, after which the battle will end.
Third step
As you can see, in “VoB”, “Dark Fang Fortress” is very versatile both in complexity and tactics. The third boss is the second most powerful and difficult opponent in the CPC after Ashbury. Commander Ruchedol has only four abilities, but besides them, he also regularly calls on two assistants, but about them separately.
Immediately at the beginning of the battle, an inevitable curse is hung on the entire group, which takes away 5% of maximum health every three seconds. Heal should be able to compensate for this, and most importantly, not to sink on mana.
Periodically, Ruchedol desecrates the earth around him, slowing down the characters on it by 50%. This can be a problem with the called “add-ons” and the incorrect arrangement of the group.
At a certain interval, the boss deals increased damage and accumulates a charge of evil spirits. When its number becomes equal to three, Ruchedol hits in front of him in a cone with breath, causing damage every half second.
The tactics are quite simple. At the beginning of the battle, the tank takes the boss to the stairs leading down and turns his back to the group. When the mobs climb the stairs, the tank must immediately "hang" them on themselves. Since they beat painfully enough, the party should immediately switch to them and beat the officer first, since he can wipe out the boss. When the commander’s “breathing” begins, it is better for the tank to step aside so that the heal does not sink over the mana.
Cold shackles
From now on you can breathe freely. Shadowfang Keep will no longer give you any unpleasant surprises. All that is left for you is to defeat a couple of strong opponents, but from this moment on, wipe groups are very difficult to catch.
Having made his way to the next boss - Lord Walden - get ready to run a lot to keep warm. Regarding tactics, nothing special or supernatural can be expected.
When puddles appear on the ground, immediately run out of them. This rule applies to 99% of opponents in the World of Warcraft.
When Walden starts spraying poison, start moving and don't stop until you get a normal color. This will reduce the damage done by the spell.
At 20% health, the boss will commit a suicide act, increasing your critical strike chance of your group by 100%. After this, the battle will end almost instantly.
Gunfire
And finally, we got to the final boss. It is believed that the last enemy in the dungeon should be the strongest, but, compared with what you experienced on the way to it, all this will be children's fun.
Lord Vincent Godfrey is not very similar to an aristocrat. In a gangster mask and with a pair of revolvers, he looks more like an adventurer than the owner of the castle.
Pull it up to the lower hall. DD-shki let climb, on the contrary, up. Thus, the boss’s main attack will not be able to get them. If you still come under fire, run out from under it while the heal is trying to cure you.
Summoned ghouls are best killed right away. They are very weak, but they hang an unpleasant debuff.
The most unpleasant feature will be the “Curse of the bullet”, which deals huge instant damage, and also puts a curse that causes increased damage for 15 seconds. It must be cleaned immediately.
The final
That's all. In principle, the dungeon was not so difficult, except for the first boss, who becomes a kind of party test.
Dark Fang Fortress is a game zone designed for beginner players to learn how to interact in a group and fulfill teams and responsibilities on time.
