Grade characteristics

Strashensky grapes have a high marketability of berries, a tasting score of 8.0 points. The flower of the variety is bisexual. The plant is resistant to mildew, phylloxera and spider mites, but is affected by gray rot and oidium. When caring for the bush, one should take into account the high fruit bearing coefficient (2.0) and the large-clarity of this variety. Strashensky grapes of medium drought tolerance and winter hardiness.

Due to the large size of the bunch, the flowering and ripening of the grapes stretches over time. When the flowering period on the upper part of the bunch is already ending, on its lower part, flowering is only beginning. The same picture is observed when the berries ripen. When the main part of the cluster has ripened, the lower one only stains. That is why when rationing the harvest by some winegrowers before flowering, the lower 1/3 of the bunch is removed. This technical technique has practically no effect on the yield of the bush, since it is compensated by the size of the berries, but the marketable appearance of the grapes significantly wins.

Coloring of berries begins in late July and lasts 2 weeks. The term for full ripening of the crop begins depending on weather conditions and the specific terrain (approximately in the second half of August).

Despite the fact that the taste of Strashensky grape berries due to low sugar accumulation is not among the best among table varieties, pickling and preserving berries of this variety reveals all its advantages. Marinated Straseni grapes are an excellent snack and it is to these berries that many people give their preference over olives or olives.
