Another hero they can join is the Dragon. Despite his specialization as sorcerers, he is a very powerful mage who can even deal with the Azure Dragon.

Azure dragons in "Heroes 3" are one of the best creatures, so their presence in the army of the character is highly desirable. Their abilities give an advantage in battle, especially if they are skillfully used.
- The azure dragon in "Heroes 3" refers to large creatures and occupies two cells - this must be taken into account when placing troops.
- Can move around the map - it is very convenient in the battle against shooters.
- Dragon Breath attacks two cells. With the right attack, you can touch several enemy units at once. But you need to be careful with your army: using the breath as a defense, the dragon can touch allied creatures.
- Fear effect: attacking, the Azure dragon with a 10% probability can scare the enemy unit, and he will miss the move. But the number of dragons does not increase the likelihood of imposing a fear effect. And this ability only affects living things.
- Like all dragons, it is not affected by spells from 1st to 3rd levels.
But the advantage of these creatures is not at all in the listed features. The Azure Dragon in "Heroes 3" surpasses all in its parameters: the amount of health (as much as 1000), attack and defense (a total of 50). Therefore, their cost is the highest in the game.

Its growth is 1 creature per week. But what else distinguishes this character from the rest of the units in the game is its very high cost. To purchase one Azure Dragon, you will need 30,000 gold and 20 pots of mercury. Of course, given its parameters, this price is justified.
But if you do not have a very strong army, and the economy is not so well developed, then do not rush to purchase the Azure Dragon. You can buy one creature and keep the castle on guard - this way you can move around the map without worrying that your castle might be captured. Azure dragons are a wonderful boost to your army.
Comparison with other dragons
Dragons in “Heroes of Might and Magic 3” are some of the most powerful creatures in the game. Of those whose dwellings can be built in the castle, black ones stand out (the “Dungeon” fraction) - their parameters are higher than those of the others, and they are immune to magic at any level. This is their advantage over the Azure Dragons in "Heroes 3".
If we compare them with other creatures of the 10th level, then they surpass the rest only in their parameters. Other dragons have more abilities, and they are no less effective in battle. For example, the Crystal Dragon is likely to resist magic and produces crystals; Rusty has acidic breathing, which can lower enemy defenses, while Fairytale ones can conjure spells at an advanced level. But they are all alike in one thing - they have a very high cost of hiring.
It is not surprising that dragons were chosen as the strongest creatures in the game. After all, since ancient times, these creatures were the embodiment of strength, wisdom and mystery.
