The Internet channel broadcast several hours a day in the evening. The channel’s budget was several million dollars.
To broadcast Kontr TV, they used online comments, IP-telephony and such a shocking technique as profanity. One of the main topics for discussion is politics. Programs like “Madness of Mashka”, “Sofa” and “Minaev Life” appeared on the channel. In various interviews, the founders of the Internet channel contrasted themselves with the Dozhd television channel.
On December 11, 2012, an article appeared in the Kommersant newspaper that, according to tax authorities, the 100% founder of Kontr TV is the pro-Kremlin ISEPS fund. This organization was formed on the initiative of the presidential administration.
After that, Sergey Minaev made a statement that he applied to this fund on his own initiative because of a lack of financial resources. Negotiations have been ongoing for more than one month, and the agreement has a clause on the non-interference of the fund in the editorial policy of the channel. Later, Anton Krasovsky gave an interview to the Snob project, in which he noted that Kontr TV is a Kremlin project, the main purpose of which is propaganda. In January 2013, Anton was fired.
