In general, “Absorption” is a rather interesting thing, the effect is rare. Your character can not only defend, absorbing an enemy spell and restoring his magic. For example, Bretons have the innate Dragon Skin spell, which gives a 50 percent absorption of spells. Thus, once a day for one minute they can successfully absorb a hostile spell.

There is also a guardian stone called the Sign of Atronach. It will give a 50% spell absorption effect (permanent).

In the Oblivion game, Absorption spells allow you to take the Atronach skill, which will also give a permanent effect of 30%.

Most often, effects have characteristics, usually 3 of them. You can combine them as you wish. The first characteristic is strength, the second is the duration of the spell, well, and the third is the area of ​​its effect.

Some effects have only one such characteristic. Duration is how much a particular effect works temporarily. Area is a certain radius around your opponent. The higher the characteristic, the greater the effect.

But in accordance with the level of your spell, its value increases. For example, for a beginner, the base price is from 0 to 25 gold coins, for a student - from 26 to 62, and for a master 400 and more.

Cost

The cost of spells depends on how advanced your skill is. To determine the value, you can apply the following formula: basic * (1.4-0.012 * spell).

You must reach a skill level in order to be able to use the spell.

Skill level for beginner 0-24, 25-49 - for the student, 50-74 = adept, 75-99 = expert, 100 = master.

The base cost is what you have to pay for the spell. It is always 3 times the cost of the spell (current). But the character’s level and its luck are taken into account.

In fact, you pay depending on how well developed the skill of trading. Therefore, if you have spells for good luck, you can conclude more profitable deals.

The effectiveness of the spell depends on its size, but is actually calculated differently. Therefore, spell levels may not display correctly if your character has armor. Example: level 18 for a slow spell, but the effectiveness is 85%. In fact, 63.75 (75 * 0.85), as a result, the spell only works up to level 15.

Altar

To be able to create spells in the Oblivion game, you need an altar, after which you select an effect from the list, adjust the parameters by moving the slider, then name it (give it some own name). Next, click the "Create" button.

The altar is located only at the University of the Secret Arts, which is laid in the imperial city. There is another altar, but it is in the chambers of the Archmage.

When you hover over the altar, the "Use" button and the altar menu appear.

Next, you see a list of known effects, they appear according to the level of your skills. You can also use the effects that are given at birth (or obtained from a magic stone). If you left-click on an effect, it will appear in the list as added.

When you press the left button on the effect, a drop-down menu appears, there you can select the effect parameter. The range of action shows where it should be directed - at the character, when touched, at any target. After you have determined the parameters, return to the menu and select the effect to include it in the spell.

The cost of mana shows how much it takes to cast the spell. If you need more mana than you have, then you can still create it.

The skill is determined by the minimum level, that is, from this level specific spells can be applied. If your level is lower, and the spell has more, then creating it will not work.

The price of the spell tells you how much money you need to give to create the spell. In the altar menu you can enter the name of the spell.

Weakness is negative resistance. But effective resistance is the sum of the active effects. In the menu, resistance and weakness are indicated separately. Therefore, in the menu "Active Effects" you need to check the resistance and indicators of weakness.

Information about immunity is not always indicated - vampires have 100% disease, however, they can become infected if a weakness for the disease is active.

Another example is ghosts. It would seem that you can’t kill them, but if you use a spell related to frost + weakness, then the ghost can get damaged and even die.

The only 100% immunity is Magic Resistance, as it will reduce the value to 0. There are no ingredients with a similar effect.

Fortunately, enemies immune to magic rarely come across. But those who are can be killed by poison.

How to delete

Let's say that a spell is created or if it was originally built-in, but for some reason you didn’t like it and you want to delete it. But keep in mind - if you created a spell, then you cannot use its name already, because the system remembers them. Basically, in the game "Oblivion" you can remove the spell using the console.

To do this, write for built-in spells: player.removespell (Form ID).

For those created, the path will be slightly different:

  • Find the directory of your game - usually it is located in Program Files.
  • There is a file called LevelUpData_1.txt.
  • It should be opened only with Wordpad, because Otepad will not work.

  • You can see all used spells.

There are two ways.

  1. First. You will need an editor called Construction Set. Download the Oblivion.esm file into it, after which the Magic tab is needed. Go to spells, that is, Spell, where the Oblivion spell ID is listed in the column. The column can be very small and hidden, expanding with the mouse.
  2. The second way - ID can be found on special sites dedicated to the game.

Cheats

To get a spell in the Oblivion game, you can use the cheat code. To do this, you need to open access to cheat codes, you must first open the console, the tilde sign will help you in this. Now you can add yourself all the spells. To do this, write the following: PlayerSpellBook.

Important! The code will give you spells (including from mods), but the number of added spells is large, so the game’s performance can greatly decrease when you open the list. Some spells that the team adds will work. The part will not act correctly.
