Crimean scorpion has the following features:

- Color - brown-yellow.
- Outside, the animal is covered with a dense chitinous shell that protects the body from mechanical influences.
- 6 eyes, one pair is located on the top, and the other two are on the sides.
- 10 paws of brown shade, the first pair is equipped with claws - chelicera, which the animal uses to capture food.
- All limbs are connected to the cephalothorax.
The vision of these arthropods is sharp, they also have comb-like organs responsible for touch.
Lifestyle
The Crimean scorpion is an endemic species, that is, its habitat includes exclusively Crimea. According to researchers, the animal chose this area in its pre-glacial period.
He prefers to lead a nocturnal lifestyle, goes hunting in the dark, hunts in secluded corners during the day: under stones or in cracks in old buildings. These creatures prefer to eat spiders, insects, millipedes, grasshoppers and praying mantises. Such arthropods first tear open the head of their prey, then inject the enzyme, and then suck the insides. The chitin shell is not used in food.
Crimean scorpions, like other representatives of the order, are viviparous; one female gives birth to 10-12 nymphs that are located on the mother’s back with the help of special suction cups. After two weeks, the babies gradually leave their mother and begin an independent life.
Now the Crimean scorpion is considered a rare arthropod. Among the reasons for the decline in the population is, first of all, the destruction by a person of the arthropod habitat. People are taking over large areas of nature, as well as demolishing old buildings, so animals have nowhere to live.
