Islands of spain

Spain is a mysterious and beautiful country. It attracts not only with its warm and mild climate, but also with its fascinating history, which began back in time immemorial. Thousands of tourists annually relax in Spain. In addition to stunningly beautiful nature and architectural monuments, this country has a developed tourist infrastructure. Along with resorts located mainly on the coast, Spain has groups of islands: Balearic and Canary. The bright sun and endless sandy beaches await you on any of them.

The islands of Spain have always been popular among those wishing to have a good rest. The tourist season usually starts in April and ends in October.

Among the Balearic Islands, the largest and most famous is Majorca. The nature here is diverse and rich. An interesting feature of it is the lack of rivers. The only source of water is artificial reservoirs and springs. Despite this, in Mallorca there are about 40 nature reserves. Endless green valleys, pine forests, oak groves give an unforgettable vacation.

Mallorca, like many other islands in Spain, boasts its history and interesting buildings that have been preserved since ancient times. One of them is a medieval monastery located in the west in the village of Valldemossa.

The capital of Mallorca is the city of Palma de Mallorca. Ancient cathedrals and mansions can be seen in the historic center. Together with the winding, narrow streets, they help to feel and understand the life of the indigenous Spaniards.

The largest island in the Mediterranean after Mallorca is Tenerife. Tourists who choose Spain as their annual holiday destination often come here.

Tenerife belongs to the Canary Islands and (like all of them) is of volcanic origin. The highest point is the Teide volcano. For sailors, it is an excellent reference point, as it is clearly visible from afar.

The features of this island of Spain include the incredible contrast between south and north. In the south it is always very sunny and dry, and in the north, on the contrary, it is humid. Thanks to this diversity, one can always enjoy magnificent landscapes. A huge number of the most outlandish plants have made the island a real nature reserve. More than 1000 species of plants that can be seen in Tenerife do not grow anywhere else on Earth. Those who are afraid of poisonous insects and snakes can safely go to these places. The island is completely safe and not one of the representatives of the local fauna will harm you.

For those who prefer silence and solitude, the northern part of the island is the best fit. A small number of hotels and low population density contribute to unity with nature and good rest.

The islands of Spain are wonderful for young people. A lot of clubs, discos and other entertainment centers are located in the south of Tenerife. Endless beaches and upscale hotels are also designed for families. There are special children's centers and mini-clubs.

Locals are very friendly towards tourists. If you do not want to book excursions, then turning to them, you will always find out what to see in Tenerife in the first place.

The small town of Candelaria is one of the most important religious centers on the island. Thousands of pilgrims come to the city basilica of Nuestra Senora de Candelaria annually. In the depths of the island is the city of Guimar, next to which are the famous Guachey pyramids. Carefully folded and hewn stone, stepped pyramids are very similar to those that were erected by the ancient Incas. These amazing structures to this day arouse the interest of many scientists trying to unravel the secrets of their creation.
