Installing a pump in a home heating system. How to install the circulation pump?

Private homes are no longer a rarity today. This has ceased to be something exceptional - to build a good, solid house on your site. All sheds and temporary huts are gone, but simplicity of construction is also with them. For a good private house you need to conduct all communications - otherwise what kind of residential building does it turn out? And with such moments problems arise, at least from time to time. Below is the installation instruction for the pump in the heating system - this is quite an important point. But what’s there, installing a pump in the heating system of a private house is one of the most important things!

Types of devices

After the state decided that it is also possible to register in a private country house, the owners of such buildings began to think about the possibility of living on their own land. Naturally, for this you need to carefully think through everything and redo a little. It is not surprising, because to turn a country house into a full-fledged cottage, you should try very hard.

Capital internal heating is one of the most necessary steps in arranging a private house. So it is not surprising that installing a pump in a heating system is becoming an increasingly common occurrence. This happens only because no matter what the autonomous part of the heat supply is, for year-round operation it is also necessary to install additional equipment. Often cost only one pump, if heating is already there.

For consumers today there are two main options - water and circulation elements. We will talk about them below.

Water element

Installing a pump in a home heating system is the most often required service. But we must not forget that there are much more powerful models that can very well heat an apartment building. The latter option is more exotic than a rule. Therefore, here it is considered the heating of an ordinary private cottage.

Such pumps are not as popular as circulation pumps, but they still have their own customer audience. Installing a water pump in a heating system is an excellent solution if the rest of the system in a small house is already equipped.

Parts required for installation

In addition to the water pump itself, the heating system, the heart of which it should become, also includes several important parts and devices, and ignoring them will be fraught with negative consequences:

• Fuel boiler.
• Hydraulic manifold.
• Hydraulic circuit (water supply system).
• Radiator.
• Mixing circuit (optional system component).
• Pressure, temperature, water flow sensors.
• Overheat protection system.
• Air outlets.
• Overpressure protection system.
• Air vent valves.

It is not worth talking about which element is more important here in a procedure such as installing a water pump in a heating system. All of them are equally necessary, and therefore forgetting about something is strongly discouraged.

Circulation pumps

This is the second type of device that has already been mentioned. It should be noted that installing a pump in a heating system (especially circulation) is not a very complicated, but extremely useful procedure. Naturally, it is better to call the masters who will cope with the work faster. But, in principle, you can do it yourself. Especially if you ask yourself in advance how to properly install the circulation pump in the heating system.

Benefits of Circulation Pumps

• Undemanding to heat supply systems - that is, all sorts of slopes, narrow sections, etc. will not affect the quality of heating. In addition, these parts are also suitable for a gravity heating circuit (i.e., one where there is no own circulation).
• Quick overclocking of the system - this, as the name implies, provides quick heating of residential premises. That is, installing a pump in a heating system makes it more efficient.
• Reliability - ease of maintenance and a fairly simple operation mechanism ensure safe and very long operation of the device.
• High efficiency - as mentioned earlier, installing a pump in a heating system increases its efficiency. The circulation element raises the efficiency of the work to the maximum.

Types of circulating mechanisms

As with any other technique, there are several different types of parts. So before you figure out how to properly install the circulation pump in the heating system, it is better to find out exactly which circulation pump is needed. They are of two types:

1 . "Dry." Characterized by the fact that the pump rotor does not come into contact with the coolant. They are mainly equipped with high-rise buildings and large rooms. Installing a pump in a home heating system, if you mean a “dry” type, is fraught with some consequences, such as noise. It will create air turbulence, which in turn will cause noise, which will interfere with living. That's why in private homes such pumps are rarely installed.
2. "Wet." This type is characterized by the fact that the rotor is immersed in the water that it pumps. It is these pumps that are most often installed in heating systems of private houses and small residential premises.

Mounting technology

To facilitate the task or the work of specialists who will carry out the procedure, it is best to purchase pumps and equipment that have split threads in the configuration. If this is not available, then you will have to torment yourself by choosing various adapters. In addition, you will need to purchase a deep filter, as well as a check valve, which will ensure normal operation under pressure - and this does not depend on the type or type of element purchased, since installing a pump in a heating system simply requires all of these parts.

Among other things, you will need some tools. To insert the pump, you will need to stock up with wrenches of different sizes - from twenty two to thirty six. This is usually enough. Shut-off valves and a pipe segment (the latter will play the role of a bypass) with a diameter equal to the diameter of the riser are also needed.

Selection of the insertion point

So that a procedure such as installing a pump in the heating system does not cause any difficulties, several points must be taken into account. First, consider the fact that heat supply equipment should be serviced. That is, the place should be sufficiently accessible for such procedures.

Other nuances

There are other features. For example, earlier pumps were installed on the return line - it was believed that chilled water, washing the working part of the element, prolongs its service life. Today, there is no such problem, since the details of the mechanisms are resistant to any water temperature. So setting the pump in the heating system to the flow or to the return is no longer relevant.

In order to increase the pressure in the suction zone, it is best to install the part in the section of the supply pipe - it can even be near the point of entry into the expansion tank system. Such a scheme will provide high temperature on a given section of the network. But for high efficiency, you need to buy an element that is resistant to strong pressure of hot water.

You yourself can make sure that the installation site of the pump in the heating system must be strictly determined - otherwise it will be impossible to achieve good efficiency.

Arrangement of devices in the pump connection

To install the pump correctly, you must follow a number of simple rules:

• Ball valves are installed on both sides. This is necessary so that the pump can be dismantled, for example during repair or replacement.
• A filter cuts into the pipe before the pump - this is necessary to avoid the ingress of large mechanical particles together with water.
• The top of the bypass is equipped with an air valve. Air congestion is not uncommon in such systems, but they are best avoided.
• The direction indicated by the arrow on the device must be observed - the movement of water must go strictly in that direction.
• Wet pumps are mounted horizontally. This protects the device from serious damage if not the entire motor is immersed in water.
• The pump terminals are facing up.
• Threaded connections are equipped with gaskets and protected by sealants.
• Only connect the pump to a grounded power outlet.

Installation sequence

• If you are installing the pump in an existing network, the coolant must be drained. It is better to clean the heating system with a long “experience” by driving water over it several times.
• The functional chain of valves and pump is adhered to in accordance with the installation rules.
• After installing and checking the system, it is filled with water.
• Last step - the central screw rotates, excess air is removed. When water comes out of the holes, the element is ready for operation.

The last step is necessary for hand pumps - automatic models cope with air on their own. But if your unit is manual, then this procedure must be repeated every time before turning it on.
