The cities of Donetsk and Zaporozhye are major administrative and cultural centers of Ukraine. Often travels in Ukraine are not complete without a trip from one city to another.
Donetsk, Zaporozhye - location of cities
The city of Donetsk is located in eastern Ukraine, on the Kalmius River. It was founded in 1969. In 2014, 929 thousand people lived in it. Donetsk - Zaporozhye: distance, route and travel time
The distance between cities is 230 kilometers. It can be overcome by bus or by car.
1. If you decide to go by bus, then several route options are possible:
- Direct flight. When traveling in the direction Donetsk - Zaporozhye, the route will pass through the city of Kurakhovo, the village of Pokrovskoye, the city of Volnyansk. Travel time is 8 hours 30 minutes.
- Connecting flight in the city of Dnieper. This route will take more time. The journey from Donetsk to the Dnieper will be 9 hours, and from the Dnieper to Zaporozhye - about another two hours. In total, you will spend about 11 hours on the road. Obviously, a direct route is more preferable and convenient.

2. When traveling by car, the travel time will take about four hours, excluding stops and traffic jams. In less than an hour, you will reach the city of Kurakhovo, after two and a half hours you will pass the village of Pokrovskoye. After about three and a half hours you will find yourself in the city of Volnyansk, and after four hours you will arrive in Zaporozhye. Be sure to consider the time of stops if you need to get to your destination at a certain point. Consider in advance the options for refueling stops, as well as how much time you will need for relaxation, personal needs and eating. It usually takes an hour. Total travel time, including stops, will be about five hours.
The cost of travel
The cost of a bus trip on the route Donetsk - Zaporozhye will be 1300 rubles, or 634 hryvnia. If you travel with a change in the city of Dnipro, then the cost of tickets will be 1770 rubles or 864 hryvnias.
If you decide to drive your own car, then the estimated cost will depend on the type of your vehicle. Let's look at the options:
- A car. With a fuel consumption of eight liters per 100 kilometers, we will need 18.4 liters of fuel to overcome the given route. With a fuel price of 35 rubles per liter, the approximate cost of the trip is 644 rubles. At the current rate (1 hryvnia equals 2.05 rubles), this is 314 hryvnias.
- Truck. With a fuel consumption of thirty liters per 100 kilometers, we need 69 liters of fuel. Thus, the cost of the trip will be equal to 2415 rubles, or 1178 hryvnias.
