Secrets and Myths of the Moscow Metro

The Moscow metro is rightfully considered one of the most mystical places in the capital. Its planning and construction has grown over hundreds of legends and myths, popular not only among the inhabitants of the city, but also among tourists.

Mysterious train and black train driver

As soon as the guest of the city leaves the coziness and comfort that surrounds his hotels in Moscow, and, having walked along the bright and sunny streets of the capital, down to the subway, he immediately finds himself in a different world. And this is not only a world of a large number of people hurrying about their business, it is a world of mysteries and secrets. For example, it is believed that late in the evening at the stations you can meet the ghost of the Black driver. According to legend, half a century ago, the driver of one of the metro trains received multiple burns, saving passengers from fire. He died, and the metro management laid all the blame on him for what happened. And since that time, the ghost of the driver walks through tunnels and stations, he does not attack people, but simply wants to achieve justice. But an even more terrible story is connected with the breakdown of the escalator at the Aircraft Engine Station. Old-timers scare tourists with stories about the victims of the accident who died from parts of the escalator mechanism tearing them to pieces. They say that the souls of these people have not found peace and have been wandering the Aviamotron for more than three decades. One cannot but recall the story of the composition with the souls of the prisoners who died during the construction of the Ring Line. If the legend believes, every month a train passes through the branch, stopping at each station, but almost not opening its doors. The driver of this train is dressed in the form of an old model. Extremely emaciated men in gray clothes can be seen in the windows of cars of this composition. It is believed that it is impossible to approach the composition, and if its doors opened in no case do not go inside. The mysterious mosaic that adorns the walls of the Kiev - Ring Station attracts fans of the theory of time travel into the subway. In the corner of the huge panel you can see a man sitting in front of an open laptop and talking on a cell phone. This is more than strange, because the station was built in 1954!

Second metro

Many Moscow residents are convinced that in parallel with the metro lines that they use every day, there are four more special lines. They are designed to connect important government and defense facilities. The so-called Metro-2 system, by its very nature, does not transport government officials and does not perform the function of government transport. It is believed that it was created for emergency evacuation and transportation of goods and maintenance personnel. The first branch of this mysteriously system connected the Kremlin with the government airport Vnukovo-2. This line runs through the cellars of the nomenclature house on Smolenskaya Street, passes through the Reception House located on the Lenin Hills and the famous wasteland located between Michurinsky Prospekt and Vernadsky Prospekt. This wasteland, called Ramenka, is famous for the legend that under it lies a huge underground city, which in the event of an atomic war is ready to give shelter to several thousand people. The second Metro-2 line, starting from the Kremlin, leads south, towards Chekhov, crosses several Moscow hotels in the basement and ends in a large military town. The third branch extends towards the village of Zarya, where the command post of the air defense forces is located. This line, running parallel to the Enthusiasts highway, passes through the cellars of the Ministry of Defense reception office located on Myasnitskaya Street. The fourth line of Metro-2 is considered the newest and most mysterious. It also originates from the Kremlin and connects it with the Government complex in Barvikha. Its construction, according to rumors, was started in 1997 and continues to this day.
