Decorative dogs are distinguished by their miniature size, provocative disposition and touching appearance. In addition, they do not take up much space and do not need increased physical exertion. All this has long turned them into unchanging companions of many residents of megacities who are unable to contain large dogs. Cavalier king charles spaniel
These animals have a very long history. It is known for certain that dogs, vaguely reminiscent of modern representatives of this breed, came to Britain in the 9th century. Experts do not exclude that these were Japanese chins and Tibetan spaniels. As a result of hard work, the English breeders managed to get miniature doggie, quickly gained popularity among the court nobility. Over time, the toy spaniels began to pour blood of pugs, thanks to which they had rounder heads, shorter muzzles and low-set ears. The breed received official recognition in FCI in 1955.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are small dogs with large ears. Their growth varies between 31-33 cm, and the weight does not exceed 8.5 kg. The miniature proportionally folded body of a typical representative of this breed is covered with long, slightly curly wool of ruby, black and tan and three-color color. Also, the standard allows the existence of another color, known as blenheim. In addition to the puppet appearance, these crumbs have a truly golden character. They are very cheerful, sociable and easily trained.
Shih tzu
The birthplace of this ancient breed is Tibet. In the chronicles that have survived to this day, it is indicated that Shih Tzu were the favorite dogs of the Great Buddha himself. For a long time they lived exclusively at the imperial court and were not exported outside of China. They arrived in Europe only in 1931 and quickly won the love of the local aristocracy.
Shih Tzu is a small dog with large ears covered with long silky hair. Her height is only 23-28 cm, and the weight ranges from 4.5-8.5 kg. On a wide rounded head with a short straight face and a convex forehead, huge expressive eyes stand out, the color of which depends on the main color. The entire body of this tiny animal is covered with luxurious outer hair of any shade. Shih Tzu are endowed with a peaceful, calm and affectionate disposition. They are highly intelligent, curious, playful and active. Representatives of this breed quickly become attached to their owners and do not tolerate loneliness.
Beagle
This breed was bred in the UK and has common roots with dachshunds and cops. The ancestors of the modern beagles came to England with the Celtic people. There they began to cross with local dogs, and the blood of several species of hounds was added to the obtained mestizos. In the middle of the XIX century, the Beagles began to take part in tribal shows, and after some time the first club of fans of this breed was organized. True popularity came to them only in the 60s of the XX century, and since then interest in these animals has been constantly growing.
Beagle is a small dog with large ears, an elongated head and a slightly rounded muzzle. Her whole strong body is covered with short, thick coat of white color with black or red spots. Representatives of this breed are endowed not only with a beautiful appearance, but also with an excellent character. They are very kind, active and playful. Chinese Crested
This is one of the most ancient and mysterious rocks that exist on our planet. It originated on the deserted plains of Africa and from there spread to other continents. Representatives of the Toltec tribe considered these animals as original talismans and worshiped them. Representatives of this breed came to Europe only in the XVIII century and aroused serious interest among British breeders.
Chinese Crested - a miniature, graceful dog with a light skeleton and beautiful expressive eyes. Under a flexible, slightly stretched body with a voluminous ribcage and a strong top line, there are slender, even limbs with narrow paws. On a proportional head with a long, pointed muzzle, there are large, low-set ears that attract the attention of others. Downy individuals are covered with veil-like wool, naked - covered with soft warm skin. In general, these are very sociable and easily trained animals that quickly become attached to their owners. They cannot stand loneliness and are always ready for active games.
Russian toy terrier
These small dogs with big ears were bred in the Russian Federation and are considered the pride of Russian cynology. They received preliminary FCI recognition in 2006. This gave them the right to receive official pedigrees of a generally accepted standard and to take part in exhibitions.
Russian toy terrier is a tiny doggie growing up to 22-27 cm at the withers and weighing no more than 3 kg. Its compact body can be covered with short or long hair of red, fawn or cream color. Also, the standard allows the existence of brown, blue, purple or black individuals with symmetrically located tan marks. Representatives of this breed are endowed with an inquisitive and friendly character. They are very cheerful, active and playful.
Chihuahua
Small dogs, named after one of the Mexican states, lived in this area long before the Mayans and Aztecs arrived. The ancient Toltecs considered them totemic animals and were fully confident that they protect their families from evil. Over time, they came to America and quickly won the recognition of local dog breeders. The first breed standard was developed in 1934. Later it underwent certain changes and finally established itself in 1972.
Chihuahua is a compact, proportionately folded dog with a perky raised tail and an apple-like head. A slightly stretched, well-balanced body with a curved neck, a weakly expressed withers and voluminous chest is covered with short or long hair of almost any color. On an almost round head, the shape of which resembles an apple, expressive dark eyes and large, widely set ears are located. These cute crumbs are endowed with a confident and rather jealous character.
Prague rat
The homeland of these animals, the exact origin of which is still unknown, is considered the Czech Republic. Initially, they were used to catch small rodents, but over time they began to perform exclusively decorative functions.
The Prague rat rat is a breed of dog that is distinguished by its miniature size. The height of an adult animal varies from 21-23 cm at the withers with a weight of about 2.6 kg. A compact square body with a poorly expressed withers, flat back and shallow chest is covered with short or semi-long hair of yellowish-red, brown, black or blue and tan color. On the pear-shaped head of the rats there are rounded dark eyes and triangular, wide-set ears. Representatives of this breed are distinguished by a cheerful and active character. They do not show unmotivated aggression, are easy to learn and never refuse to have fun in the company of the owners.
Dachshund
Dogs, vaguely reminiscent of modern representatives of this breed, lived in southern Germany as early as the 16th century. It is possible that among their ancestors were German marriages, from which they inherited their unusual appearance and well-developed hunting instinct. These dogs came to Russia only in the 18th century.
Dachshunds are stunted, short, stocky dogs. Their weight should not exceed 10 kg. On an elongated head, tapering to the nose with well-developed jaws, wide-set oval eyes and drooping round ears are located. Dachshunds have a flexible neck, moderately convex scruff, a strong back and slightly sloping croup. The entire body of such a dog is covered with smooth, stiff or long hair of a monophonic, two-tone or marble color. Representatives of this breed are endowed with an energetic disposition. They are true sanguines with a perfectly developed hunting instinct for a passion for travel. They get along well with other pets and really value comfort.
Falen
This is one of the most beautiful miniature breeds. According to one version, it came from Espanyol-neni. According to another, no less plausible theory, their ancestors were dwarf spaniels and northern Spitz.
Falen is a breed of decorative dogs whose weight does not exceed 2.5 kg with a height of not more than 28 cm at the withers. These animals are very similar to papillons. The difference between them is only in the structure of the ears. In falens, they hang freely along the cheekbones. The miniature, proportionately folded, thin-boned body of these dogs is covered with a smooth soft awn with a dense undercoat and lush decorating hair. As for the color, it can only be white with multi-colored markings throughout the body. Falen is a quick-witted, easily trained and very sociable doggie that does not require long walks and serious loads.
Boston terrier
The homeland of these animals, which appeared back in the 19th century, is considered to be the United States. The dog, which is the ancestor of the Boston Terrier eared, possessed all the qualities inherent in a typical bull. It was distinguished by its large size and stocky physique. Puppies born from him resembled something between a bull terrier and a bulldog. Later they began to cross among themselves. The new breed received official recognition in the spring of 1893.
The Boston Terrier is a small dog whose weight ranges from 6.8-11.35 kg. It is easy to recognize by its broad-faced square head with thick lips, rounded eyes and pointed erect ears. The proportional body of this animal is covered with short smooth hair of black-and-white or motley color. In general, representatives of this breed are distinguished by a very friendly and active disposition. They are good at training, but sometimes show obstinacy.
