Also pay attention to the type of yarn. It is better to buy expensive special children's yarn than cheap skeins of hand or in the market. The fact is that poor-quality material can cause redness of the skin, itching and even become an allergen. Therefore, you need to knit things for a newborn from natural yarn.
Cotton allows baby skin to breathe, does not cause allergies. But some things from it become tough, especially if you knit tight. In this case, choose a blended yarn made of cotton and acrylic, which creates airiness and softness. Woolen threads, choose only for children, soft (for example, from merino wool). However, in many children and adults, wool causes itching and redness, so choose mixed skeins, for example, the same acrylic or microfiber.

When creating children's things, also pay attention to the density of knitting and connection. The hard weave not only rubs the skin, but also increases the weight of the product. On the sheet, draw the pattern according to the finished size. For example, 15 centimeters from ear to crown is the height of the cap, and 32 cm is the circumference, 16 cm is the width of the headgear, respectively. You get a semicircle under which you draw a “ear” pattern, the height of which is 5 cm from 15 and the width is 9 cm, leaving 5 cm on the face and 2 cm behind.
You start knitting with “ears” with 4 loops of garter stitch . Additions are made in each even row from both ends, 1 loop (2nd and 4th row), 2 points (6th row), 3 points (8th row).
