On the basis of Presidential Decree No. 1222 of 10/19/2005 at the request of citizens from 01/01/2006, they will be issued a new generation of passports. The old ones continue to operate, but are valid only until replaced. Samples of new passports are approved by Government Decision No. 298 of March 14, 1997.
How to get the?
The application is submitted personally by the applicant. If a passport of a new generation is required for a citizen who has not reached the age of 18, he will be issued at the request of any of the parents. The receipt of the document is carried out in the presence of the child.
For the issuance of a passport, it is necessary to pay a state duty in the amount of 2500 rubles for adults and for children under 14 years old - 1200 rubles. When applying, you must provide an identity document. For men aged 18-27 years, you will also need a military ID or a certificate of delay.
The statement will need to indicate information for the last 10 years of work or study. If activities have not been carried out for a period, this is also introduced. The data provided must be certified by the heads of the organization at the place of work or study. You should have a work book with you, for an individual entrepreneur - a certificate and a copy of it, for pensioners - a pension certificate.
The application is filled out in computer form. When writing it, it is unacceptable to make corrections using the corrector or strikethroughs. If inaccurate information is entered in the application, the applicant will respond in accordance with the liability established by law.
To get a new generation passport, you must first pass the old one. An exception is the case when a citizen’s labor (work) is directly related to the need to regularly leave the Russian Federation and, for several reasons, he is not entitled to receive an official or diplomatic passport. This is possible only at the request of the organization in which the specified person works, and if trips are carried out at least once a month. Also, the old passport can be temporarily left to the citizen if it does not have blank pages, but there are currently valid visas of other states. It is marked "canceled".
A new generation foreign passport is issued within a month if the application is written at the place of residence, and if at the place of temporary residence - within four months.
The following documents are required for registration:
1. two copies of the application form with the inclusion of certified information on labor activity. When applying for non-working citizens, information is certified by the FMS employee in accordance with supporting documents. A sample of filling out an application for a new generation passport can be downloaded on the Internet;
2. work book or its copy (certified);
3. Two 3x4 photos on the application. (There is no need to provide them, since three-dimensional photographing is carried out in the department of the FMS);
4. receipt confirming the payment of state duty;
5. old foreign passport;
6. general passport and photocopies of pages 2, 3, 19, as well as registration pages.
What is a passport
The new generation passport contains a separate plastic page with a contactless type microcircuit mounted (implanted) in it with an antenna. The microcircuit contains the data of the person contained on the first page, namely: name, gender and date of birth, digital photo, passport number, date of receipt and expiration. The volume of non-volatile memory is 72 kilobytes. Additional biometric information (the image of the iris , fingerprints, etc.) can be added to the microcircuit. A new generation passport is issued for 10 years. It is valid for departure and entry to the Russian Federation.
