As you know, the protagonist in the game TES V: Skyrim can choose one of the representatives (or representatives) of ten races. Of the people, these are the Nords, Imperials, Redguards and Bretons, the elven peoples are represented by altmers, dunmeri, orsimers and Bosmeri, there are only two animal races - Khajiits and Argonians. And of course, this part of the gameplay could not but interest the creative players, who are still releasing race mods for Skyrim to this day.

If the additions created for the elven races most often bring cosmetic improvements - models, body shapes and new textures - then on the basis of animal (mainly Khajiit, Argonians a little attention is paid) and human created not just re-textures, but full-fledged new races. However, some of them have their own history, organically inscribed in the world of the game.
Requirements
Most of the popular mods for races in Skyrim use the resources of third-party modifications, so before installing, you should carefully read the list of required installed add-ons like improved textures, hairstyles, as well as mods that expand the game mechanics (skeletons, body physics, etc.). Running the game without one of the necessary add-ons will lead at best to a mess of textures and polygons instead of a character, and at worst to a crash from the game and, possibly, a damaged save file.
Difficulties with installing mods on Skyrim for new races should not arise, because, in addition to describing the requirements and methods for installing the modification, there is a readme file on the download page in the archive. Some add-ons are quite simple to install manually, while for others it is better to use mod managers (Nexus Mod Manager program, for example), since during installation the player will be asked to set many modification parameters (texture resolution, eye color, type of bodies installed in the game, presence or absence of support physics and much more). Such mods are equipped with special script files, according to which the installer downloads the required settings to the game. In manual mode, all this takes a lot of time, and there is a risk of error.
