What do we need?
A cut of fleece (here it is pink) 40x32 cm in size, a velvet rectangle (in the photo is purple with patterns) 40x21 cm, plastic balls (filler) - about 40 grams, black beads for the eyes, strong thread, scissors, glue, a sewing machine.
How is this toy sewn with your own hands?
Patterns are chosen so that any beginner can understand them and easily cope with the task. You can sew the platypus both manually and on a sewing machine. The fabrics are very different, just the fleece is great for such products, as it is very pleasant to the touch and warm. Any child will like such a bright soft toy. Step-by-step instruction - do-it-yourself soft toy
We increase the pattern by about 50% so that a completely small platypus does not work out. If necessary, you can stick the pattern on thicker paper, for example, cardboard, then cut it out (it will come in handy for further sewing). Using pins, attach the pattern to the wrong side of the fabric. Cut the workpiece from the fabric. Then stitch the parts in order, leaving a gap of half a centimeter. Before sewing, it is better to sketch the seams or stab with pins so that the fleece does not move to the side, since you will have to sew in a non-straight line. Fill the legs and nose with filler, and then sew them. Do the same with the body of the platypus. Sew black beads in place of the eyes. In the end, you need to stitch all parts of the animal together. Here you are ready to make a soft toy with your own hands. Be sure to save the patterns. You can make several multi-colored platypuses or start sewing them on order, if everything works out very well for you. And this is a very profitable business, since a thing created by one's own hands is always valued much more than a factory one.
