Domestic, international, European sizes of clothes and shoes

Modern trading takes place not only in markets, department stores, boutiques, online stores are popular. A huge amount of imported goods in the domestic market puts buyers in a slightly awkward position in determining the size of clothing. Let's try to consider how European sizes differ from the usual Russians.

Women's outerwear

First, let's deal with the marking. In the post-Soviet space, it is customary to designate sizes with numbers. For an adult women's outerwear, the size chart starts from the 40th number. How was it identified? By measuring the circumference of the chest, waist and hips, a ratio of 80-60-86 is obtained, which was taken as the 40th. The larger these numbers, the higher the size. European manufacturers also use digital marking. The starting point for the upper women's clothing is 34 size. Thus, if you wear, for example, the 46th by our standards, you should pay attention to the 40th European sizes of clothing models.

The international sizes of outerwear, in turn, are indicated by Latin letters. The smallest size is marked with XS, the largest - XL. Moreover, the larger X, the larger the size. So, size XXXXL is equal to 56 European and 62 domestic size.

European sizes 36-38 according to international standards are indicated by the Latin letters XS and S, respectively. For a standard figure with proportions 88-70-94 (chest / waist / hips), it is customary to sew 38-40 European sizes, 44-46 Russian sizes, and size M by international standards. Marking L begins with 42 European and 48 domestic.

Men's outerwear

European sizes of men's outerwear are fully consistent with Russian. Therefore, problems can arise only with international labeling. For a standard figure of size 50-52, L. is suitable. If a man wears a clothing size smaller, he should choose a size marked M, if larger - XL.

When choosing jackets and down jackets, round up European sizes to the greater side so that there is no discomfort during their operation. Note that you wear them on a sweater or shirt.

Footwear

To determine the size of the shoe, you need to measure the foot from the tip of the protruding finger to the heel. It is better to do this by the end of the day, when the legs are already tired and swollen from the load. Consideration should be given to the fact that by measuring both legs, you will get different results. There is nothing to worry about. Just add the arithmetic mean and divide in half, rounding upwards to 5 mm. Most often, when marking, European shoe sizes are used. Thus, 22 centimeters is 35 shoe size, 22.5 cm is 35.5 size, 23 cm is 36 size, etc. That is, one full shoe size is determined by the formula “plus one centimeter”. When choosing shoes, never focus on the length of the sole. The size of the foot should correspond to the insole.

Of particular importance when choosing shoes is the pad and fullness (foot width). The parameter of the width of the foot has not been used recently, since the shoes are made of elastic materials that stretch over time and take the form of a foot.

Before buying shoes, it is better to try on it first. Since shoes, sneakers, boots, boots and slippers are an integral part of the wardrobe, which has the greatest degree of importance. Buy boots a size larger given warm socks. Sandals are clearly sized. Slippers without a back can be bought one size smaller - when walking, the heel will “leave” forward, and the leg will seem small. Properly chosen comfortable shoes have an active lifestyle, prevents the appearance of corns and serves as a guarantee of protection against dislocation. Therefore, acquiring even the most fashionable and beautiful shoes, think about whether you can go through them all day.
