Nowadays, the use of a double switch is widespread. Indeed, because with this technology you can use a beautiful chandelier with several bulbs or spotlights, which is undoubtedly very convenient when adjusting the optimal lighting.
A double switch connection scheme allows you to control two groups of bulbs to illuminate the area. Accordingly, the work of each group is regulated by a dedicated button. The maximum number of bulbs in each group can reach 8, although it is possible to organize the functioning of an even larger number, it all depends on the ingenuity and connection scheme. Let's consider it in more detail.
The junction box includes two wires, red and blue. The first is phase, and the second is zero. The red wire is connected to the same color by the wire in the junction box, and then goes to the common node of the double switch, from which, in turn, yellow and orange come out.
The ultimate goal of the yellow cable is to come to the first group of bulbs, and orange - respectively, to the second. They are responsible for regulating all the lighting. It turns out that the connection circuit of the double switch is quite simple and easy to understand. The picture ends with a blue cord (zero), which is always connected to all groups of lamps, unlike other wires, with which the switch coordinates only the phases of the groups. All these features once again prove the practicality of a double switch.
There are two technologies for connecting wires to switches:
self-locking terminals and screw terminals. The first method is more progressive and convenient, since the mount does not weaken over time. The screw clamps have to be tightened periodically, because the tightening screw tends to gradually move away.
The sum of all the failed cables in the junction box is eight: two from the electrical panel, three exits to the switch and three to the light bulbs. However, there may be cases when the number of wires is even greater, for example, when the lamps are located in different places - the corridor and the bedroom. The zero wire should be connected everywhere, which means that with this placement it is twice as much.
