For the third year in a row, the Inspiration Art Festival has been held in Moscow. The favorite venue of the festival is the territory of the Main Exhibition of the capital. Every year, Muscovites and guests of the city are present at the grandiose laser light show at the festival. 2017 was no exception. On July 21, everyone hurried to the "Magic Forest" in Ostankino Park, where the opening of the "Nature of Inspiration" festival took place.
Festivals
Each year, festivals are dedicated to art and inspiration, showing their various facets. In 2015, it was AQUA-SHOY. For the first time in Russia, a laser show control was implemented at the festival. The design of the fountain complex has changed thanks to the dynamic program of the movement of the jets and the backlight.
The 2016 festival had the theme "World of Wanderings. A Tale of a Dream". Despite the fact that the festival lasted only three days, great musical works were sounded on it, there was a theme of the history of the theater and playwrights. The landscape of the VDNH space turned into theatrical stage, where dozens of improvised theatrical performances were shown to the public.

"Magic Forest" in Ostankino Park
In 2017, according to established tradition, on July 21, a festival began on the designated theme "Nature of Inspiration." Like previous festivals, this one was held at the Exhibition of Economic Achievements at the address: Ostankino Park "Magic Forest". The forest actually turned out to be magical, without exaggeration. The best artists from Europe worked on creating an open-air multimedia space in the forest of the Ostankino park . In the world of lighting design has been used for a long time. In Moscow, original ideas for working with light were shown at the festival.
The phenomenon of immersion (the effect of presence, immersion) is one of the main trends in the modern entertainment industry. At the festival, heroes of legends and myths, forest spirits, all kinds of mythical animals were immersive. The guests who came to the festival were full participants in what was happening, they were attracted by the magical forest with their installations. Visitors to the festival events were filled with enthusiasm for what was happening. Who worked on the project
Thanks to the work of world-famous European and Russian artists invited to the festival, dozens of installations of pristine nature and its beauty were created. Their work was supervised by Julien Pavillard, who directed the last legendary light show in Lyon. In the "Magic Forest" were presented the works of Eric Barre, Alexi Gabiro and others. In total, twelve artists worked on the project. As Julien Pavillard recalled, there is practically no difference in the installations created by European and Russian artists. Europeans love to work with warm sunlight, unlike China and Japan. They work with moonlight, cold light.
In world practice, lighting projects are carried out in the winter, during the winter solstice. There is not enough light, so people are happy to come to light shows on Christmas and New Year holidays. The festival was held in Moscow in the summer and it was necessary to somehow maintain light balance. The night light show was just what you needed. The balance effectively showed what effect is obtained when the play of light and darkness.
What is filled with "Magic Forest"
Arriving in the “Magic Forest” of Ostankino Park, the opening hours of which during the festival began at 21:00 and lasted until one in the morning (twelve days already), one could walk along the kilometer-long route of the fabulous landscape. The exposition began with a mirrored luminous arch - a symbol of the entrance to the "Magic Forest". Walking through the park, people involuntarily imbued with magic. Revived the forest in a whisper of leaves and the voices of forest inhabitants talked with the guests of the festival. Behind the trees, mythical creatures and fairy-tale characters flashed. There were underwater birds and fish floating in the air.
All this was created using volumetric light projections, art objects, 45 powerful spotlights, interactive sculptures and sounds. It is unusual, beautiful and free! And, most importantly, in Moscow this was not even at previous festivals!
The entire territory reserved for the festival in Ostankino Park was divided into zones. They beat corners with islands of light, glades with forest spirits, ponds with flying fish and a grove with magic trees. How to get to Ostankino Park in the "Magic Forest" to his heart - the interactive zone, festival guests could learn from the festival's brochures. In this zone, 15 columns were installed with buttons that allow you to get into controlled magic. By pressing this or that button, the guest discovered for himself in a special light the figures of mythical animals, flying fish or other fairy tales. Part of the zones made for children was also interactive.
Eric Barre Works
Having walked through a light tunnel consisting of fifty “lumieres” and among the mesmerizing wicker sculptures of Eric Barre in the “Magic Forest” of Ostankino Park, visitors were so enthusiastic that they wanted to come again and again to this unusual light show at the festival. And no wonder. The world famous artist Eric Barre has repeatedly presented his unique works, which reflect the eternal desire for harmony. They are made of willow and broom.
Glory came to him when, on behalf of LVMH, he designed the windows of 150 stores around the world. In Switzerland and France saw his signature sculptures. Guests of the festival saw Barre's works, such as bee hives from twigs, illuminated from the inside - Pershlumy and Nidlumy - bird's nests from willow branches.
Works of the artist Cedric Le Bourne
This artist is known for his installations, photographic works and street performances. They brought luminous static birds sitting on poles in a fairy forest to the festival. The same series of birds was created for the festival in Geneva. There they were huge, up to five meters. The birds created for the Moscow festival were two meters high. On magical nights, everyone who came to Ostankino Park was pleased.
Guests of the festival could see flying luminous birds at the bottom of the pond, and sardines - luminous fish flying over the water. They were made of milard (a kind of plastic) by the French art association Aérosculpture. The fish were illuminated by the rays of reflected light from trees and water. The artist’s world-famous works were brought to the festival by him and became part of the “Magic Forest” in Ostankino Park. The photo of his "Magic fallow deer" is simply irresistible!
How do objects come to life?
Kinetic sculpture "Galloping Horse", created by Remy Bran, fascinated the walking audience in a magical forest. The works of Remy Bran are known outside of France. He is a participant in exhibitions of special effects in the UK, Holland, Finland. It is impossible to photograph his sculpture, but the video clearly shows the movement of a static figure. Work with volumetric light sculptures is the management of a billion light points that a computer program performs.
Festival guests liked the work "Forest Herbs" and "Magic Forest Berries" by French designer Murka Glogowski. Her works combine elements of street and fine art and decoration.
Other festival installations
The impressive picture that was invented by the artist Alexis Gabiro "Pandora" made an indelible impression on the guests of the festival. She looked like a mysterious planet from the movie "Avatar". The forest was bluish, but looked like neon white.
The video mapping technique (the art of creating and superimposing three-dimensional projections on physical objects) video artist Alexi Gabiro created animated sylphs of the Friendship of Peoples fountain in the territory of the Magic Forest. These river spirits danced, circled in round dances. Composer Gilles Fournier enlivened these figures with music. They sang and laughed.
How and what to get to the festival
The organizers of the festival provided for early notification of the date and place of the festival. The corresponding handout was printed, which indicated how to get to Ostankino Park in the "Magic Forest". The easiest way indicated in the advertising booklets is to come to the festival by trams No. 11, No. 17 and No. 25 to the final stop "Ostankino". From the center of the capital it was possible to come by buses, following the routes m9, 24, 24k, 85, 311, 379, 561.
Also, one could come from any end of the capital to Ostankino Park in the "Magic Forest" by metro, reaching the station Timiryazevskaya, Fonvizinskaya or VDNKh, and then about twenty minutes on foot to the park. Or one metro stop to get by any means of transport.
The final day of the festival
The last, final day of the festival was dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the country's main exhibition. The closing program was attended by the Russian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, the Dance Land Jazz Orchestra and the Hermitage soloist ensemble. How to get to Ostankino Park in the "Magic Forest", no one had any questions. For the twelve days of the festival, Muscovites and guests of the capital have well learned the route. Therefore, on the last day many people came and came to Ostankino Park.
In the program of the last day of the festival, musical groups performed classical pieces and jazz hits. The concert program was held against the background of the light projection of the artist Alexis Gabiro, on the "Magic Forest" in Ostankino Park.

According to the attendance of this event, we can conclude that the festival was held and liked. More than 600 thousand visitors visited its sites, that is, the theme prompted by the stunning French team of artists helped to learn to listen and hear nature. For twelve days they turned the signs of nature into art, which the festival guests gratefully received. The reviews that people have visited in this fairy tale come down to the fact that here they were able to feel how many ideas and thoughts they draw from nature, and how rarely they are alone with her. After all, only in silence can you hear the whisper of leaves. Liked the lighting effects. Many believe that the ideas of lighting design will be used in the capital at festive events.
The festival is over, but the VDNH Directorate is already giving birth to new plans. Next year, a larger and more interesting program is planned. Once again, the direction associated with inspiration and art will be changed, and something new and unusual will be undertaken to once again surprise the guests of the festival.
