Half Life is a game that can rightfully be considered legendary. She became one of the prototypes of an ideal first-person shooter, and many gamers still enjoy playing it. The first “Half Life” was released back in 1998, followed by several additions, after which in 2004 a sequel was realized. It all started, as already mentioned above, in 1998, when an incredible shooter with a deep storyline and fascinating gameplay appeared on the shelves. We were allowed to try on the image of the silent chemist Gordon Freeman, who did not utter a single word in all two parts of the game. But when an emergency occurred at the Black Mass secret base, Gordon took up arms without problems and began saving his life in order to bring the whole truth to the world. He simultaneously has to fight both with the mutants that were created at the base, and with the soldiers who were ordered to eliminate Gordon by any means.
Continued half-life
The first part of the game made a splash, because before the “Half Life” the gaming industry had not seen such a great shooter. Naturally, gamers wanted to see a sequel, but they had to wait six whole years. During this time, “Counter Strike” (a network shooter based on the “Half Life” engine) and other projects from “Valve” were released, but only in 2004 the continuation of the sensational shooter saw the light of day. It was expected with some fears, since the continuation of masterpieces often does not reach the level of its predecessors. However, in the case of “Half Life” everything turned out quite differently - the second part was as magnificent as the first. That is why not only fans of the series, but just lovers of computer games are still wondering when Hald Life 3 will be released. After all, everyone is waiting for the creators of this project another explosion in the field of gaming.
Endless waiting
For the first time, the release of the third part of Half Life was announced not so long ago - about five years ago. Many gamers have already forgotten that “Valve” once promised that the third and final episode of the great epic about Gordon Freeman will be released. But things didn’t go beyond words - every year there were more and more new messages about postponing the release of the final part of the Half Life trilogy, jokes appeared on the Internet that this game might never see the light of day. Developers to questions about when Half Life 3 will be released always gave vague answers that did not promise anything specific. In a recent interview, one of the developers said that the third part will be on sale as early as this fall, but few have believed it. Is the series still incomplete? Is there really no answer to the question of when Half Life 3 will be released?
Faint ray of hope
"Valve" is now working on the development of its own engine for computer games, so they are clearly not up to extraneous projects. Before starting such a serious activity, the company released two network shooters in a zombie setting called Left 4 Dead, as well as the second part of the Portal puzzle, which received separate single-player and cooperative campaigns, developing along completely different story lines. And after that, there were no fresh “toys” from the company, but just recently a separate site was launched, which can shed light on the question: “When will Half Life 3 come out?” The release date of the game there, of course, is not indicated, because the site is designed in a very mysterious way. The universe is symbolically depicted on the page, and under it there are three counters, which symbolize unannounced projects. One of them most likely corresponds to the release date of the game engine from Valve, the other to the Steam Box gaming platform, but what does the third counter mean? Many suppose and hope that it is dedicated specifically to the "half", which cannot but rejoice. It is not yet known when Half Life 3 is coming out, there’s still no certainty that this counter is somehow connected with the sensational project, however, some craftsmen have already managed to “take into circulation” the symbolic image of the universe and, by changing the contrast, find it on in the graphic editor, the Half Life logo has the number 3. However, this can hardly be considered proof, since such a video can very easily be fabricated.
Will there be a continuation?
While optimists find the Half Life emblem in the pictures from the site, pessimists are considering the likelihood that the final part will not be on sale. Many of them are tormented by the question of whether Half Life 3 will be released at all, and their forecasts are not very comforting. The fact is that almost all of Valve’s latest projects are networked. They are designed for cooperative passage, which completely contradicts the concept of "Half Life". Therefore, it is likely that Valve will continue to deal only with network projects, and the final part of the trilogy will not be released. Wait and see...
