With the onset of autumn, preparations for winter begin. Many people stock up on food and insulate their homes. Therefore, one of the most pressing issues at this time of the year is how to insulate the loggia with your own hands.
Before starting the preparatory work, it is necessary to determine what condition the given object should be in (and to what extent it should be insulated). For the initial data, we take a typical room with windows installed. Since the glazing process can be divided into a separate category, and its implementation should be entrusted to those specialists who were engaged in the manufacture of these windows. We will insulate so as to get the maximum effect without installing heating batteries.
To insulate the loggia, first you need to find all the holes leading to the street and seal them with mounting foam. If they are too large, then you can additionally use a special sealant, which will help eliminate all existing voids.
After this, it is necessary to insulate the walls that border the street. It is best to use the lining. Since this material can be classified as inexpensive and there are simply a huge number of options for its execution. When the sewing will be done, then, in order to insulate the loggia, it is necessary to put a heater in the space between the wall and the lining. Mineral wool is usually suitable for this, but some craftsmen lay egg cages in a second layer to preserve heat and better sound insulation. They are made in such a way that both sound and heat are very well retained, while such material is also fireproof.
Having insulated the walls, many are wondering how to insulate the floor on the loggia, since it is from there that the cold often goes. For this, the extension method is usually used. Small slats are nailed to the concrete base over the entire area (at a distance of about twenty centimeters from each other). And they do it so that they get a wooden lattice. Further, in order to insulate the loggia, mineral wool is laid in the resulting cells, and then the entire floor is covered with sheets of chipboard, which are tightly screwed to the slats.
It is recommended that the resulting wooden floor be treated with moisture-proofing impregnation, which will eliminate unpleasant consequences in the future. Then the entire floor can be covered with linoleum or carpet. Note that to insulate the loggia efficiently, do not save on material.
For greater reliability and heat preservation, the loggia ceiling is also recommended to be sewn up with lining. When installing it, you can immediately organize lighting, which, due to the properties of the selected material, can be installed in any area of the ceiling. For greater aesthetics, the lining also sewn up the second wall, which is adjacent to the apartment (but this is at the discretion of the owner).
Such a loggia can withstand fairly low temperatures, while maintaining its own heat, and when you install heating batteries (or other heaters), it turns into a real warm room.
