Greenfinch - green colored mushroom

Zelenukha is a mushroom, which is scientifically called green rowovka and belongs to the genus Tricholoma. In the people it is also called greenfinch or greenfinch. This macromycete received this name for its characteristic color. Moreover, it persists after cooking, and the green color becomes even more saturated. Zelenukha is a mushroom that does not have poisonous counterparts, which makes the "hunt" for it safe. It is edible (fourth category).

An interesting feature is that this macromycete is considered the last of the season. It can still be collected when all the other mushrooms have already "departed". The big plus is that the worm mushroom is never a worm. A photo of him can be seen in this article. The disadvantage of this macromycete is that its surface is usually heavily contaminated with litter and adherent sand. Many mushroom pickers therefore do not take the legs of the green row, as it is extremely difficult to clean them.

Description

Zelenukha is a mushroom that at a young age has a convex hat, then it becomes flat-spread with a small tubercle in the center. Its color ranges from greenish gray to brown yellow or olive yellow. The hat is radially fibrous, often in the center finely scaly, sticky and mucous. It is because of the latter characteristics that soil particles and litter greens are strongly attracted to themselves. A photo of a mushroom surrounded by forest debris can be seen in this article. The edges of the cap of the mushroom are lowered and wavy. Its diameter is up to 10 cm. Macromycete plates are notched, grown, frequent, wide, yellowish-green or lemon-yellow. The leg is continuous, cylindrical, longitudinally fibrous, finely scaly or smooth. Its thickness is 1-2 cm. The spore powder is white. The pulp is yellowish or light, with a floury aroma and pleasant taste.

Habitat

Zelenukha is a mushroom that forms mycorrhiza with pine. This determines the places where it should be sought. It grows on sandy soils in forests of mixed and coniferous type with the presence of pine. As a rule, macromycete hides under needles or is immersed in soil. There is a green row, both individually and in large communities. When the fruiting body of the fungus fully develops in the soil, only a hat is visible from the fallen needles or moss. Because of this, inexperienced "silent hunters" often pass by, completely not noticing the greenfinch. This macromycete loves dry burs with litter covered with lichens and mosses. The first copies begin to come across in late August. However, massive fruiting begins in mid-September and lasts until mid-December. Greenfinch is collected until the frost. This macromycete often coexists with oils and porcini mushrooms.

Culinary characteristics

Zelenukha - mushroom is quite tasty and versatile. It can be dried, boiled, frozen, salted, pickled, fried, stewed. As already mentioned, washing and cleaning this macromycete is not easy, but the most difficult thing is to clean out the litter and grains of sand that are clogged between the plates. Before cooking these mushrooms, remove the peel from the hat. Culinary processing only enhances the saturation of the natural green color of this row.
