Cats habits: meaning

Cats, thanks to their mysterious and independent (at first glance) nature, have won the love of many people. Since there is a “language barrier” between a man and a cat, it is important to understand his feelings and mood by gestures in order to build a normal “relationship” with a four-legged friend. The behavior of cats can indicate different conditions of the animal: resentment, sadness, sensation of pain, aggression or affectionate mood. A person's understanding of these signals is important, to a greater extent, for a cat, because, for example, in the case of an unhealthy condition, the owner will be able to take measures: take him to the veterinarian or try to heal the animal on his own.

Aggressive cat gestures

Cats are essentially peaceful creatures. They rarely strive to attack and in every possible way try to avoid direct conflict, rushing into the race. But before they run away from the source of danger, they try to intimidate him so that he does not set out to catch up with the cat. For intimidation, cats bend up their backs, stand on tiptoe to appear taller and larger. The ears are turned back, and the tail is fluffy, increasing visually in size.

If the fight could not be avoided, cats can spit in the direction of the enemy, growl and hiss. The whole district at this moment is heard the wild cries that they emit. During the fight, they try to grab the enemy by the scruff and thus gain control over the situation. If the enemy is a dog, then the cat scratches its nose to reduce the concentration of the enemy.

If the cat is brought to a full state of aggression, then it is difficult to stop it, and at this moment it is ready for the most desperate acts, which intimidates even large dogs. There are frequent cases when a cat chased a dog and even chased after it to make a “retribution”.

Cat habits and disease

Also, by the behavior, facial expressions, gestures and voice, you can determine whether the cat is sick. If she does not leave the owner all the time and screams, then most likely she is in pain and asks for help. Another sign of the disease is constantly half-closed eyes and a blurred look, which indicates that the animal is very tired.

In a painful state, a cat may seek to hide away from everyone: under a bed, in a closet, under a blanket - where no one will touch it.

If the cat is very nervous and there is an excited state (sudden movements, increased tone of the voice, quick licking nervously), then one of the most common reasons for this is skin parasites: fleas and ticks, and allergies can also be the cause. Persistent itching can cause a cat's nervous breakdown.

Cat habits and affection

If the cat purrs, then this is a clear sign of a good mood. If she is stroked at this moment, then she can roll over on her side and put her stomach in order to be stroked too, and then “flatten” on her back. In this position, the cat is vulnerable, and if she allowed herself such carelessness in behavior, then this is a clear expression of trust in her master.

Cat habits and hunger

If the animal is hungry, then it will call the owner and "lead" him along to the feeding place. At the same time, cats look straight into the eyes with a “begging” look, raise their tail up and meow with interrogative intonation.

The habits of cats and respect for the owner

Quite often, you can notice a situation where a cat rubs against the owner’s legs, “taking” their tail. At the same time, an expression of reverence can go to the extreme extent when a cat is laid with a small somersault on the feet of a person. The fact is that cats in this way try to leave their smell on a person’s clothes so that another cat representative who accidentally meets immediately understands that this person is connected with another cat.

Another expression of reverence and an extremely trusting relationship is the “stamping” of the owner or his clothes by the cat. In this state, cats “remember” how their mother fed them in childhood. A cat who does not trust the owner and does not love him will never do this, so you should not drive him away at these moments: you can offend him very seriously.
