Handmade teapot warmer

Making your kitchen a pleasant little thing, do not forget that in addition to beautiful and comfortable potholders you need a heating pad for a kettle. Without such a device, it will not be possible to prepare a fragrant drink. And the kitchen becomes much more comfortable with such decorative details. If you are engaged in needlework, and at home there are a variety of shreds and fabric cuts, then it will not be difficult to make a beautiful kitchen set.

A set of tacks and a heating pad on the kettle can be a great gift for friends and relatives for various holidays. It’s enough to connect the imagination, and a unique set for home use in the form of an exotic peacock or a fluffy cat, a cheerful cow or a bright ladybug will come out of your hands. Let's look at the manufacturing process in stages.

DIY ladybug teapot warmer

We need flaps of red, black and colored fabric, synthetic winterizer, black slanting trim and threads of a suitable tone. First, measure the teapot. We are interested in only two quantities: height and girth, taking into account the handle and nose. Take for example the following parameters:

  • The height of the kettle is 13 centimeters plus 6 centimeters, we get 19.
  • Girth 34 centimeters, halved - 17 centimeters plus 5 centimeters, we get 22.

On a piece of thick paper, draw a 19x22 centimeter rectangle and round off the top two corners. This will be our workpiece. We cut out the second same detail from paper and draw on it the head and specks of a ladybug. From sintepon, colored and red fabric, we cut out two main details. We add a kind of sandwich from them, in the middle of which we have a synthetic winterizer. We stab the parts with needles, protecting from displacement, and quilting with a straight line with an interval of three centimeters.

Now you should give the front side the appearance of a ladybug. To do this, we cut out the head and small circles from black fabric. We put one main detail with the red side up. We put on it a black blank of the head, circles and pin. We adjust the details with a zigzag line along the very edge.

After that, we take the two main parts and fold it so that the colored fabric is inside. We stab with needles and lay a line along the rounded edge, 0.5 cm from it. We remove the needles. Now you need to hide all the seams. To do this, we process the edges with the help of a slanting inlay. Upstairs we make two loops, depicting the antennae of a ladybug. The hot water bottle on the kettle turned out to be very bright and beautiful.

To make a set we sew several tacks in the form of small ladybugs. To do this, make an oval pattern, using a 14x17 centimeter rectangle as the basis. The manufacturing principle is the same. We cut one piece of synthetic winterizer, red and colored fabric. We make blanks for the head and circles using black material. We put decorative details on the red part and adjust it in a zigzag pattern. Fold the three main parts, stab with needles and lay a line at a distance of 0.5 centimeters from the edge. We process an open cut with a black oblique edging, making a loop in the center of the head.

No less attractive is the knitted heating pad on the kettle. Crochet or knitting it will be done, not so important. Using only two colors of threads (red and green), you can make an excellent heating pad in the form of a large strawberry with green leaves. You can use the same pattern on which we sewed the previous product, complementing the knitted details with a lining and padding polyester.

If the thread of the desired color is not so much, then measure the girth of the capacity of the teapot and tie the base of the berry, leaving slots for the handle and nose. From green threads, make openwork leaves and attach them to the top of the strawberries. Embroider small ticks with black threads, imitating the bones. Such a heating pad on the kettle will not leave anyone indifferent.
