For several hours he filled the funeral home, reliving the death of his comrades. Sometimes Zosia appeared, but the young man was ashamed to look at her. And in the evening, when voices and singing with a guitar began to come from Mrs. Julia's hut, he decided to remain alone and not meet with a proud girl. And she still did not go out of his head, making her feel a nagging feeling in her chest. The harmony began, which attracted the hero to the house of Pani. Unable to stand, he went to the hut, determined to invite Zosya to the dance. But the young man was disappointed. A smiling girl was already dancing with Vitka, and he was telling her something funny.
The hero came back and could not fall asleep, as he felt miserable. “She does not care about me, and tomorrow she will forget about our acquaintance,” he thought. And in the morning I found out that the girl had broken a guitar about Vitka when he wanted to kiss her. Thus ends the story of the second day in Nowy Dvur Bogomolov.

On the third day, an order came to go to the front. Curled up quickly. Vitka walked gloomy and formidable. Sending commander of the headquarters.
