In Skyrim and Oblivion, the Nirn root appears in several in-game quests at once.

Typically, Nirn roots can be found near water sources. They grow in lowlands, do not need sunlight and cope well with cold temperatures. It is easiest to notice a plant at night, as it emits a dull white-green light and emits a special hum.

In the game you can meet two types of roots - ordinary and red. Scarlet roots grow only in the Black Reach, while ordinary roots can be found throughout Tamriel. Both types have identical properties.

In his journey through Cyrodiil, a player will sooner or later encounter an unusual plant called the root of Nirn. In Oblivion, as in Skyrim, it can be found next to various bodies of water. We tear off our very first plant and get a journal entry about a new quest. After that, we should ask about the find of any alchemist merchant who will direct us to another alchemist named Sinderion. Sinderion can be found in Skingrad, in the basement of one of the hotels called West Weld. After talking with the alchemist, we learn that he is working on a special elixir, the main ingredient of which should be the root of Nirn. At the moment, he needs 10 copies of the plant. Recall that the Nirn root in Oblivion is found near water, therefore, having arrived in Shady Grove, it is better to immediately go to the lake. We collect 10 copies and hurry back to Sinderion. Now you need to wait one day for the alchemist to have time to prepare his elixir - we will receive one bubble as a reward for the completed task. In order to enhance the effect of the elixir, Sinderion will ask us to bring him already 20 roots (after this the amount of necessary ingredients will increase to 30 and 40 copies). If more plants can be collected, then the alchemist will pay for them.
