History of creation
How did Park of Patriots appear on the city map? Voronezh is known for its glorious military history; it is not for nothing that it is called the cradle of the Russian fleet and the homeland of the airborne forces. Even under Peter I, the city became the center of shipbuilding, and during the years of World War II it steadily withstood violent enemy attacks and in many respects contributed to the victory of the Soviet people over the fascist invaders.

Locals love and appreciate the Patriots Park. Voronezh is known for its green oases, and this park is one of the largest and most visited in the city. In its center, the Eternal Flame burns, which symbolizes the memory of the war heroes who fought in 1941-1945. for their homeland.
To the left of the Eternal Flame stands a granite stele. It is stylized as a Doric warrant, its top is crowned with the emblem of Russia, and a pedestal is decorated with a cartouche on which lines from the presidential decree that Voronezh is awarded the title "City of Military Glory" are placed .
