One of the most joyful and happy moments in the life of parents is the birth of children. And if not one baby is born, but two at once, then this happiness, respectively, is multiplied by two. In this case, obtaining maternity capital would be most welcome. But how are payments made when more than one child is born? And do they give maternity capital for twins? These issues concern a large number of moms and dads. Let's consider them in more detail.
What is maternity capital?
This is the federal program of Russia, which began to operate in 2007. Its main goal is to increase the birth rate and assist young families with two or more children. If the baby was born, for example, on December 30, 2006, then maternity capital is not provided for him. It is estimated that the end of this program will be at the end of 2016. But there is an assumption that this project will be extended until 2025.
Maternity capital: twins, first birth
Many parents are interested in whether they will receive payments if, after the first pregnancy, 2 children were born immediately. How much does the state pay at the birth of twins?
As already mentioned above, the amount of payments when one or several children are born at the same time is the same. For example, in 2013, it amounted to 408,960 rubles. Now, in 2014, due to inflation, this amount was slightly adjusted - 429,408 rubles.
Payment Terms
In order for parents to be able to take advantage of this subsidy, it is necessary to have certain rights to receive it. So:
- a person who plans to receive payments (usually a mother) must have Russian citizenship;
- the child for whom the capital will be issued must also be a citizen of the Russian Federation;
- State support will be provided to families whose twins were born or adopted from the beginning of 2007 to the very end of 2016.
Double subsidies for the birth of twins in the second birth - is this possible?
Yes, such programs are available in several regions. Therefore, if twins were born during the second birth , then mothers should know that they have a chance to get regional support. It is issued at each birth or adoption of children, until their total number reaches 4-5 people. Such subsidies are received by parents from Altai or from the Republic of Tuva.
Regional maternal capital at the birth of twins in the second birth, or rather, its size, can be from 30,000 to 200,000 rubles. In some areas, when a third and subsequent baby appears in the family, parents are given a plot for the construction of a residential building.

Who can get paid?

What documents are needed?

Use of subsidies
Funds that rely on the birth of twins are not given out to hands. After three years after the birth of children, parents can apply maternity capital in the following areas:
- Improving housing conditions. The subsidy may be directed to the construction of a house (payment for the work of a contractor) or the purchase of a finished apartment.
- Payment for children's education.
- The accumulation of part of the mother’s pension.
- Repayment of a loan for the purchase of housing.
If the amount of the subsidy is not spent all, the balance will be indexed annually in accordance with the increase in inflation.
Terms of registration and receipt of subsidies
If parents could not immediately apply for subsidies, do they give maternity capital for twins in this case? Mandatory. An application for a certificate can be submitted immediately after the appearance of the babies, or in a year or two. The exact terms in the law are not provided. The decision to issue a certificate will be made within 30 days, about which the applicant will be notified.
After the kids are 3 years old, parents can use the subsidy in the above areas. An exception is the repayment of a housing loan - in this case it can be used immediately after receiving a certificate in your hands. And if one child died?
What if one of the newborns died during childbirth? Is maternity capital given for twins in this case? No, in such situations, the law prohibits the grant of a subsidy. If the child died after the parents received a birth certificate in their hands, then there is a chance to get a certificate.
