Master class: textile nesting doll. Do it yourself do-it-yourself fabric
A beautiful nesting doll can simply be made from textiles. If you know how to sew at least a little, pay attention to the next simple and interesting workshop.
How is a nested doll done with your own hands? First you need to prepare the following materials and tools:
- cotton fabric of different colors (plain white, beige, burgundy);
- motley fabric with a floral pattern;
- synthetic winterizer;
- lace;
- threads
- a brush;
- pencil;
- scissors;
- acrylic paints.

Technology for making crafts from textiles
Now we will tell you directly about how to sew a nested doll with your own hands. To get started, take a white cloth, selected for the top of the toy, and fold it in half. We transfer the pattern to it, but not the whole, but only its upper part. We cut along the contours and get two blanks that will become the face and back of the head of the toy. In one of the details we make a round hole. Next, take a beige fabric and cut a small square out of it. From a dark red cloth we cut out a strip, it will become a doll’s handkerchief. We also prepare a strip of lace equal to the length of the workpiece from burgundy material. Now we sew a lace braid to one dark red strip from one edge. Turn the part over and iron it on the front side. On the prepared beige square from one edge we impose the blank of the scarf. From above we close these two parts with a white cloth with a hole cut out in it. We fix all the elements with pins and sew them with a hem seam (or loop). Turning the product over, cut off the excess beige and dark red materials. The result is a head with a face and a handkerchief on the forehead.

We proceed to the manufacture of the body of the doll. To do this, take a colorful material with a floral print and fold it in half. We cut out the bottom of our nesting dolls (the lower part in the pattern). And now we add all the details (head, back of the head, two body elements) with the front side inward, slightly departing from the edge, mark the outline with a pencil and sew the product along it. Attention: we don’t stitch the bottom of the nesting dolls yet. Through it we will fill the doll with a synthetic winterizer. We cut off the excess material, we turn out the toy and stuff it with a padding polyester. It is necessary to evenly distribute the filler and straighten it. After that, we sew the bottom of the toy with a blind seam. Well, now we decorate the matryoshka at our discretion: we sew the lace to the body (at the border of white and multi-colored materials), beads, sequins, beautiful buttons. Pencil out eyes, eyelashes, eyebrows, nose and lips. We color them with acrylic paints. We draw cheeks with blush. That's all, our textile nesting doll is ready!
We make a piece of salt dough
A magnificent painted nesting doll can be made not only from textiles, but also from other improvised materials. For example, very interesting crafts are obtained from salt dough. Try to make such a doll with your child, modeling not only brings satisfaction, but also develops fine motor skills. So, let's discuss how do-it-yourself nesting dolls are made from salt dough. Actually also very simple. First you need to cook the dough. We offer you such a tried and tested recipe. Take 1 cup of salt (small, extra), 2 cups flour, 250 ml of cold water and mix the ingredients. To them, add 1-1.5 tbsp. l vegetable oil. The dough according to this recipe is elastic and soft. Now we make a blank from cardboard - we cut out the silhouette of a nesting doll. We roll out a piece of dough with a rolling pin, giving it an oval shape. Moreover, its thickness should be at least 6 mm. We attach a cardboard silhouette and cut the matryoshka body on it. Next we sculpt the face (a small circle). A little later - pens, and then attach them to the sides of the workpiece. Using the stacks, we draw the eyes, mouth, cheeks. Now leave the workpiece to dry for a while.
Bright nesting doll. With our own hands we paint the product with watercolors
First, paint with beige paint the face of our nesting doll and palm. Then we draw a scarf in watercolor. Blue paint the sleeves, and white paint the shirt. We design a skirt with any bright watercolor. If desired, on a sarafan, you can draw some kind of pattern, for example, flowers, geometric shapes, etc. Now we proceed to the most difficult part of the work - draw eyes, nose and sponges. Do not forget about the hair of the doll. If desired, we also decorate the shirt, performing various patterns on it. After the paint dries, we cover the craft with varnish. That's all, the doll is done with your own hands! It can be glued to cardboard, decorate the background and framed. So you get a beautiful panel.
Let's make a doll from paper
Together with your children you can make a funny doll made of cardboard. For work, you need some materials and tools:
- thick white A4 paper;
- paints;
- scissors;
- ruler;
- glue stick;
- white cardboard;
- cutting substrate.

Then cut out the details from paper. We apply the resulting blanks to cardboard, circle them and cut them along the contour.
We paint our craft

We also paint the second part (the back of the doll) with gouache and leave the craft to dry. After that, glue both parts on top and bottom on the protrusions using glue stick.
