The Lokomotiv stadium in Cherkizovo is one of the largest in our country and has repeatedly become the site of high-profile sports victories.
History
In 1935, on the site of the modern Lokomotiv, its predecessor, which was called the "Stalinist", was discovered. Later, by decision of the Moscow authorities, the object was demolished, as it was outdated and did not meet the standards of that time. In the same place, in 1966, a new sports facility was built, which served not only for training, but also for holding home matches of the football team of the same name. The old stadium with bulk stands was originally equipped with benches for fans, which created some inconvenience. They were later replaced with plastic seats. In 2000, it was decided to reconstruct the structure. As a result, two years later, a new modern stadium Lokomotiv (Cherkizovo) was opened, which has become not only one of the best in Moscow, but also in Russia. Currently, it is the property of Russian Railways.
