Previously, it belonged to Peter Ilyich, who was a wealthy nobleman of the last century. Many old-timers still remember his feasts, which were noisy throughout the province. He went broke. I went to Petersburg to look for a place, but died in a hotel room. His fog served as a butler. He was a simple man of about seventy with a good-natured smile and a pleasant face.

The final part of the work begins with the storyteller approaching the people described and starting the conversation. At the same time, the Fog is launched into the memory of the late Count. He recalls feasts and hunts, which were arranged by Peter Ilyich, as well as numerous lovers of the count. An important person chose them from representatives of the lower class. The most wicked and beautiful was Akulina, who was the daughter of a Sith dyatsky. Suddenly, behind the talking people in the ravine there was a noise. The narrator looked around and immediately saw a man. He was about 50 years old, and he had a knapsack behind him. The fog called it Vlas. A man told me that he went to Moscow to his master. He requested that the quitrent reduce. Vlas's only son died. He used to make dues for his father. The barin contemplated and drove him out. He notes that during the summer heat, the most focused and determined person in the forest is not able to be.
