Often it happens that we do not appreciate those materials that are already at home. For many people it’s easier to go to the store, buy a new pack of paper, new, brighter markers and create with satisfaction. But for some reason no one thinks that in this way we, one way or another, spend the resources of our planet, despite the fact that at home there will always be a piece of cardboard and colored pencils.
A toy from childhood
A homemade toy has always been a great alternative to an expensive plastic toy car or doll, which will still be thrown into the far corner. Therefore, it is very important to show the child that the toy has a price: it is best to do this by proposing to create it yourself, spending personal time and making a lot of effort.
So, popular paper soldiers, which can be sculpted by dozens, inventing new and new characters, are an ideal toy for noisy boys. The most important thing is that this toy is created from improvised means that everyone has in the house, and since making a soldier out of paper is very simple, even small children can handle it.
Persistent soldier
How to make a soldier out of paper so that it lasts longer? You need to take natural materials that are pleasant for contact with them and do not pose any danger:
- Paper cylinders. Often they are made from pressed paper that has already been used and recycled. They can be found at the base of towels and toilet rolls. This shape fits perfectly under the body and perfectly holds on to the glued elements.
- Trimming colored paper. Basically, when children spend this creative material, they don’t save on leftovers (although in vain). Since the soldiers themselves are small, to make shoes, shoulder straps, a face or a suit, you need very little paper.
- A simple pencil.
- Ruler.
- Scissors. You should be careful with them, as it is easy to cut yourself, especially when you cut out small details.
- Glue. For paper, it is better to choose a glue stick or PVA, as they are less toxic and do not pose a threat to children. The first option is still more convenient to use.
How to make a soldier out of paper with your own hands
Now that all the materials have been collected, it's time to begin the process of making the toy.
- Take a paper sleeve and divide it with a pencil into three equal parts: head, body and legs. It is important to draw these lines along the entire circumference of the cylinder evenly, since the following rows will be equal to them.
- First, we’ll make a face for a soldier: for this, cut a strip of beige or white so that the width is 1/3 of the sleeve, and the length completely covers the required area. On a separate square we draw the face of the soldier, after which we first glue the strip, and then the head onto the cylinder. Let’s dry.
Real military
How to make a soldier out of paper so that it really looks like a military man? To do this, make him a camouflage uniform from green paper. For greater credibility, a dark green pencil can draw a pattern of equipment.
- Paste 2/3 of our soldier with green paper. It is important to ensure that it does not go beyond the intended boundaries. We give it a little dry and proceed to the manufacture of small parts.
- Separately, we cut 2 sleeves from green cardboard and paste palms of light paper on them. From yellow and black paper, shoulder straps can be made on each hand. We also create a belt.
- We cut black boots and, having gathered all the details together, glue them to the body of the soldier.
- Create a cap by gluing a circle and a strip with a ledge of green cardboard. Also glue to the soldier.
- The final touches can already be added with a pen or felt-tip pen, drawing beautiful buttons and fasteners on the form.
That's all, our soldier is ready for a game in which he will definitely be able to fend for himself!
How to make a soldier out of paper (origami)
For this
type of toy, we need much less materials, or rather, only green and beige paper.
- Take a square sheet of green paper from which we will form the body of our soldier. To do this, bend the workpiece diagonally, getting a triangle.
- Now bend the resulting shape in half to get a bend in the middle. Then we return the bent side back and raise the corners at the base to a right angle from two sides. Moreover, one of the sides needs to be bent by the so-called mountain.
- We got a kind of pocket that we need to open and flatten well. We turn the finished origami figure and get the body of our homemade soldier.
- Now is the time to make a face for the toy. For him, we take light-colored paper, but denser, so that this part is held tightly on the soldier. We cut out the head from it, in this case the shape of the head is not very important.
- After that, we will reward our military with facial features, depicting eyes, nose, lips and even a small bang.
- We glue our head to the very top of the finished triangle and enjoy the new toy made by our own hands.
