Moscow is the largest metropolis in Russia, home to over ten million people. He lives such an active life that most of them have no time to stop, to comprehend their life, to relax. Meanwhile, in the city there are many places where a tired city dweller awaits peace, silence and natural beauty. These are park gardens, of which there are 200 in Moscow. One of the best is the Milyutinsky Garden, affectionately called by the locals Milyutka.

The Milyutinsky Garden is located on Pokrovsky Boulevard, 10. This is the Basmanny District of the Central Administrative District. It is worth noting that in the same area there is a square with the same name, but on Novoryazanskaya street.

History of the Milyutinsky Garden

The history of this city park is inextricably linked with the ongoing changes in the entire zone. Almost from the XIV century fruit orchards were established in these territories, and among them were the estates of the boyars and princes.

In the XVIII century, cardinal changes took place. Partially, the gardens were cut down, and the area was dug up. This was done in order to create a barrier to possible fires.

The place was occupied by servicemen and merchants. They broke the Milyutinsky garden at the Border Office, built in Khokhlovsky Lane, in 1754. It was a park closed to public access. It was possible to get into it after crossing the clerical yard. In fact, the park was part of an old garden preserved from felling. Only this time, tracks were broken in it, a fence was installed.

The Milyutinsky Garden in Moscow was opened to the public only after the archives of the chancellery were transferred to the People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs on revolutionary days. This institution at that time was headed by V. Milyutin. It was he who named the garden, previously simply attributed to the office. For general access, the entrance was opened from the side of Pokrovsky Boulevard, an arch was erected.

In 1936, the park received a new status and was slightly transformed. Milyutinsky garden turned into a children's park of district scale. After which the locals gave him several nicknames - Milyutka and Milyutinka. This garden has become more than just a park. It organized children's camps for the summer. Modern reconstruction

The last reconstruction of the garden was carried out in 2001. In the course of work, it was additionally landscaped with trees, shrubs, renewed old ones and smashed new lawns and flower beds. All paths were laid out with modern curly tiles, wrought iron fences were set. A beautiful fountain was built.

Children's and training grounds are completely refitted. For young visitors, a wooden building was built in the back of the garden. This is not only the administration of the park, but also the location of many children's sections.

Traditional annual and perennial plants are planted on the flower beds, able to delight with bright greens, flowers and buds throughout the warm period. In summer, the garden is beautiful and pleasing to the eye. Visitors are allowed to sit on lawns and have picnics. Despite the fact that the park is small in size, it is not crowded with visitors.

Historical figures who enjoyed visiting the garden

Very close to the garden is a building where artist I.I. Levitan lived and worked in a small outbuilding for a long time. Garden paths Milyutinki was his favorite walking place. The workshop of a landscape painter was visited by A.P. Chekhov, F.I. Chaliapin, K. A. Timiryazev, as well as other artists, artists and collectors. It can be assumed that people who visited the outbuilding could walk along the shady alleys of the garden.

How to get to the park?

The nearest metro stations are Turgenevskaya, Chistye Prudy, Sretensky Boulevard. Having reached any of them, it will be necessary to change onto trams 3, 39, โ€œAโ€, bus 3, which go to the stop โ€œKazarmenny laneโ€. All transport runs regularly at intervals of 10 to 30 minutes.

The entrance gates to the park today are only one, they are located directly opposite the entrance to the Barracks Lane. Those that remained from Soviet times (in the form of a white arch) are now not used. The arched structure is periodically whitened, and the grilles are painted.

For a long time, guests came to the garden almost around the clock. This did not benefit his appearance. After the last reconstruction, they determined the schedule of the garden and organized security.

Now visitors can come here seven days a week, but only from seven in the morning until nine in the evening. At the same time, the garden is protected both in the daytime and at night. This benefited the look of the garden. It is very clean and well maintained.
