"The Sorcerer's Apprentice"

What is amazing about this book? Despite the fact that she is considered one of the best at Medvedev, fantasy lovers ignore her for some reason. “The Sorcerer's Apprentice” cannot be found in different selections of books recommended for reading, although everyone who reads it notes a good style, a non-banal plot, and interesting characters.

Briefly about the plot: Andrei is a journalist, but for the sake of saving the world he will urgently need to be re-qualified as a magician, and take magic lessons from the master of evil. The book can be read in one evening, the story is not dragged out, there is no sagging plot lines and tattered narration. Among the shortcomings, some dialogues of the main characters in the style of philosophical debate can be noted. This does not mean that the presence of any deep ideas makes the book worse, just some of them seemed banal and a little far-fetched.

Series 2012

The Chronicles of the Apocalypse and The Formula of Survival are two separate novels. What do they attract? When you read the title and annotation, you expect a text in the style of “hit, rob, run, survive.” But in fact, a considerable part of the books is allotted to the esoteric component, and all the adventures of the heroes are presented in snatches that do not reveal the full picture.

anton medvedev books

In this series, it is attractive that, according to publishers, the idea and some plot details were based on real events. It is not known whether this is true or not, but the information makes one take novels more seriously. Compared, the Formula of Survival is a stronger work, although both novels claim to be loved.

"Metamorph"

To some of the readers this work was reminded by "Guest" Stephanie Meyer, and some drew an analogy with the series "Dexter". Just because the main character is a charming monster who can take on any look and looks at people from a gastronomic point of view. The idea of the book is five with two pluses, but the performance was a little disappointing. It is felt that the book was written in a hurry, it was not subjected to a good proofreading, as the text is damp in places. But in general, the book is successful, and it can be recommended for reading.

Who to read

Anton Medvedev is not the most popular writer, but he still has his fans. What can scare off in the books of this author? First of all, it is diverse. Medvedev’s piggy bank has books in the genre of fighting science fiction, fantasy, social science fiction, horror. Not every reader will equally love stories about spaceships and alien life forms, as well as fairy tales about magicians and ways of self-improvement.

survival formula

In almost every book, Anton Medvedev pays attention to reflections and dialogues about eternal values - love, the struggle of evil and good in everyone’s soul, the choice that defines a person, and much more. All this is veiled by a mask of typical entertainment literature, and this discrepancy sometimes scares readers away. For example, you want to read something about the dashing brutal guys with guns, and you are being forced to think about the value of human life and who is still killing - the person who gives the order, or the soldier pulling the trigger.
