Violation of human rights in Russia and in the world

More than half a century after the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the provisions of which contain norms proclaiming a person and his life as the highest value, life continues to demonstrate more and more violations of the international document. Cases of infringement of the legitimate interests of an individual occur everywhere.

Violation of human rights
The violation of human rights in the form of ill-treatment or torture, according to 2009, was recorded in 81 states. And, according to the text of an international document ratified in most countries, these actions cannot be carried out under any circumstances. In addition to torture and ill-treatment, the agreement expressly prohibits slavery, restricts freedom of thought and guarantees the right to a fair trial. In addition, the government cannot arbitrarily and unreasonably limit the possibilities provided by law for a person.

Unfair prosecution, according to 2009 data, takes place in 54 countries. The UPKRF provides for the possibility of returning property to a person who has been rehabilitated, as well as the payment of various property compensation. However, high-profile cases of restoring a person's rights and recognizing judicial errors by investigative bodies more often arise in the practice of Western countries. But this fact is not evidence of the correctness and faultlessness of the activities of the relevant authorities in Russia. Rather, these circumstances can be attributed to the inefficiency of the rehabilitation mechanism. In other words, it is difficult for a convicted person to prove that in his case there was a violation of human rights.

Human Rights Violation Examples
The facts of restriction of freedom of expression are recorded, according to 2009, in 77 states. An international document secures a person’s ability to openly express his thoughts (even if they do not coincide with the majority opinion). The press must also be free (in accordance with the principles of the Declaration).

But the violation of human rights also occurs in this area. For example, in Russia, the announcement of an atheistic position and the presentation of arguments to justify this form of worldview is fraught with the onset of administrative responsibility for insulting the feelings of a certain religious group. This circumstance is especially alarming when you consider that the Russian Federation, according to the Constitution, is a secular state. In this case, the violation of human rights is again manifest.

Human rights abuses
In Russia, there is also the publication of unconstitutional acts. So, the fact of violation of human rights was recorded in a resolution adopted in the Astrakhan region. The text of the document prohibits the registration of persons from the Chechen Republic.

The violation of human rights was contained in the Charter of the Krasnodar Territory. The document included provisions prohibiting persons of a nationality other than Russian from being elected to state and local authorities. In addition, based on the text of this document, only those who have been living in the territory of the subject for at least 5 years have the right to vote.

The Tatarstan Law “On Elections” also contained a violation of human rights: it enshrined the possibility of holding uncontested elections of the President of the Republic.

Well, one can only hope that in the near future the situation will radically change! And the violation of human rights, examples of which were examined, will sink into oblivion.
