If you are just learning to knit, then after knowing how to knit the front and back stitches, you can begin to learn patterns from braids. It is enough to understand the principle of work and act carefully, carefully calculating the loops, in order to master this technique easily and quickly.
To do the job you will need a special pin, which is often sold complete with knitting needles. If the pattern is complex and consists of several braids, then you will need several pins. If the weaves are small, including from 3 to 5 loops, then you can use the usual large safety pins. The main thing is that the loops do not slip out of the device for twisting the loops in the pigtail.

Simple braid from front loops
Learning how to knit braid patterns will start with a simple, traditional pigtail. For example, it will consist of 10 loops. Add two more edging to the sample. Total, we collect 12 loops and knit 6 or 8 rows of facial viscous. Then we divide the number of loops in half and remove the first half of the pattern from the braids without knitting on a pin. Depending on whether the parts cross from left to right or vice versa, the pin lowers in front of the canvas or on its back side. Then they knit the second half immediately.
Then the loops are removed from the pin back to the knitting needle and the row is tied to the end. On the wrong side, knitting is carried out, as usual, that is, the wrong loops.
The next crossing of the loops occurs through the same number of rows as in the first case, that is, after 6 or 8.
How to make braid patterns
After you have learned how to handle the pin and throw the required number of loops to the other side, you can come up with more complex options, combining different lengths of rows between the crossing loops. The photo below shows that in the pattern of braids, knitting 14 rows with facial loops alternate until the loops are removed to an additional knitting pin or pin with only 4 rows knitted.
You can shift their location in the middle. For example, one braid begins to cross through 12 rows, and the next one - after 6.
The braid pattern looks interesting when two thin details are intertwined into one wide. Then the pattern continues again from the individual elements.
In such a knitting, the crossing should be counter, that is, in two parallel braids, the loops removed on the pin are left on the front of the canvas on one side and on the back on the other.
Variant of different knitting
The pigtail, in which one half is connected only by facial loops, and the other consists of alternating facial and wrong ones, looks original. The interweaving of parts occurs in the usual way.
