Talking parrots. Which breeds are better suited to training

Talking parrots are able to imitate and imitate the sounds of human speech. Many believe that this is a conscious communication, but, unfortunately, the mental abilities of birds are limited. When acquiring a feathered pet, it is quite difficult to determine which individual will show a greater degree of talent for reproducing human speech. Parrots are referred to as “mockingbirds,” since many of them quickly learn to repeat words and even the intonation with which they were pronounced.

In individual individuals, talent is especially pronounced, they are easily trained to copy whole phrases. If you are interested in talking parrots, you decided to purchase one representative of this group, in order to further teach him how to speak, you need to know the breeds that are better amenable to learning.

One of the most capable and most accurately copying and transmitting human speech has always been considered Jaco birds. Some individuals so accurately convey not only the timbre, but also intonation, that it is possible to recognize male and female voices. Nevertheless, even among this breed there are birds that are absolutely incapable of reproducing the human voice. You can spend more than one year, but they will not be able to talk with all your efforts.

Talking parrots are so talented that they transmit not only voices, but also imitate a vacuum cleaner, laughter, cough and many other sounds. You can never predict what you can hear from such a pet.

Some species of red-tailed parrots and many Amazons can learn to speak at a fairly decent level, but matching the voice will be inaccurate, and it will be clear that speech does not belong to humans.

Cockatoos are also great mimics, but very capable birds are extremely rare. Talking parrots among macaws are also quite rare. Ara does not reproduce sounds clearly, his voice is more like a croak.

The ability of the bird does not depend on gender, but in budgerigars, males are more talkative than females. An interesting feature is that females are harder to train, but their speech is much clearer.

Domestic parrots are much easier to learn if they are kept in a favorable atmosphere, they feel comfortable, receive affection, care, care, enough communication and trust their master. A very important factor, on which the talkativeness of the pet will largely depend, is its age. Young parrots at the age of 35-45 days lend themselves to training many times faster and easier than those with which they begin to practice at the age of 3-4 months.

In order for parrots to show their abilities, they must be kept the first 2-3 months in your house separately from other birds, if any. The cage with the pet should be in a crowded place where he will hear human speech constantly. As soon as your parrot starts trusting you, sits on your shoulder, takes food from your hands, his learning to talk will be much faster.

Wait for the bird to settle on your shoulder. This is the best time to start learning. In order for the parrot (who speaks in the future) to understand you better, you need to communicate with him in a quiet and calm voice, repeating the words several times. The most convenient time for bird training is morning and evening. The reaction of the parrot to your words should be manifested in his attention. If he listens to you, slowly opening and closing his eyes, then there is a chance that time will not be wasted in vain.

A speaker who is a parrot is trained faster if women and children deal with him. This is facilitated by their higher and purer, unlike men's voices. In addition to the ability of the bird itself to speak, it is necessary that her teacher have great patience and love her, regardless of talent.
