First you need to make a backup copy of the folder into which mods will be added later. It is called DragonAge and is located in My Documents, under the BioWare subsection. By the way, it is better to save the created copy to another disk, D or E.
How to install mods for Dragon Age Origins after backup? To do this, you need to download a special program called DAO-Modmanager to your computer - with its help, the installation will take place. We perform the following steps:
- Unpack the downloaded file using 7-zip or WinRar (depending on the archive).
- Run the program through the shortcut .exe. Select the very first Mods tab and click on "Show All" - at the bottom of the window should be displayed all the mods that we downloaded earlier. Click on the desired icon and select "Installation". By the way, in the same way, you can remove unnecessary modifications by selecting the Delete option rather than Install.
Method 2: install files with the .dazip extension
The method that we talked about above should work in most cases. But how to install mods for Dragon Age Origins if the downloaded files have the extension .dazip? In this situation, a useful program called Daupdater will help you figure it out. Moreover, it does not need to be searched and downloaded separately to the computer - it is already in the bin_ship folder, in the DragonAge subsection (where the game itself is installed). Just open the program by clicking on the .exe shortcut and click on DAZIP. Then we indicate the address of the folder in which all the necessary modifications are located, and start the installation.
