Cactus is an unusual plant, but not everyone can afford to have such a flower at home. The dream of a prickly friend can be realized by weaving it from beads. Lovers and collectors of these desert residents will be pleased to receive as a gift a brooch or earrings in the form of a favorite plant. Brooch "Cactus"
A cactus brooch can be made using sewn rhinestones, rondels, beads and beads available. Embroidery is done according to your own sketch on a dense fabric, for example, on felt. For work you will need:
- green beads;
- wire;
- foam ball;
- green paint - gouache or acrylic;
- alabaster;
- sushi stick or thick wire;
- pot;
- nippers.
We begin to make blanks:
- Collect 8 beads on a 6 cm long wire. To speed up the process, you can use a spinner.
- Wrap the wire under the first 4 beads. Tighten the eyelet. You should get a leaf, on each side of which there will be 4 beads. Make 6 such blanks and twist them together on one side. The other part of the wire will serve as cactus spines.
- Cut the excess wire, leaving 1.5 cm on one side and 0.5-1 cm on the other.
- You need to make a lot of such blanks. Their number depends on the diameter of the foam ball. If there is no ball, the cactus mold can be cut from any piece of foam on its own or used as the basis of plasticine.
- Paint the base with green paint. Insert a wand into its bottom.
Product assembly
Now you need to place the foam blank in the pot. First, dilute the alabaster and fill it into the prepared container. When the mixture has hardened a little, insert the stick, securing the cactus in the container. After complete drying, you can paint the upper part of the "soil" in brown or gray. Fill the base with bead blanks, covering it completely - and the cactus is ready! Additionally, you can decorate it on top with a flower made in the same technique.

Beaded cacti with patterns of different colors can be found on needlework sites. Consider the simplest option to create a beautiful flower. With it, the topiary will look much more attractive. The bud at the top will make the composition complete. In some cases, you can not do without such decoration, since part of the workpiece remains open.
For work you will need:
- thin wire;
- thick wire for connection to the base;
- beads of three colors for the petals;
- nippers;
- bead for the central part.
The flower pattern for the cactus bead is quite simple:
- Collect 12 cm of yellow beads onto the wire using a spinner.
- Separate 2 cm and cut a piece of wire - this will be the base of the flower. You need to screw the rest of the wire to it: wrap it around the center in rows, forming a petal. There will be 5 rows in one leaf. The edges need to be pulled out a bit to make them sharp. Fasten the wire at the ends. Make 12 petals for the inside of the flower.
- Now in turn are the petals of a slightly different shape for the next tier. You can change the color of the beads in the middle to get different shades. Then the bud will look more natural. The base remains the same color, and replace the beads in the next 3 rows with white or orange. Such petals will need 6 pieces.
- For the last tier, petals with a base of 3 cm are needed. Around it, wrap 3 rows of light-colored beads, and make the last row yellow. Collect 7 of these leaves.
We form the middle of the flower
Use a large bead as the core of the bud. Fasten it to the wire. In addition to the central part, you need stamens of a flower. To create them, take a wire about 15 cm long. You need to collect orange beads on it and fix the ends with a small bead or bugle, turning it several times. Fold the wire in half and twist it, forming two stamens. Patterns of cacti from beads and patterns of colors may vary. Sometimes they use ready-made stamens on a wire, attaching flower petals to them. On average, 8 stamens may be needed.
Assembling a Cactus Flower
It remains to assemble the product and combine it with the cactus:
- First attach the stamens to the central bead in pairs, at the same distance from each other.
- Gather 12 small petals in bundles of two pieces, then fasten with the middle. It is easier to tie them with cotton thread, rather than fasten with wire.
- Next, attach the petals of the second and third tiers, distributing them in a checkerboard pattern.
- It remains to attach a thick wire with which the flower will be connected to the base.
