Today we’ll talk about “The Sims 4: Vampires” - a special add-on that gives players the opportunity to visit the mysterious and slightly frightening vampire town.
Go to Forgotten Hollow
This is the name of the new playable city, which first appears in this add-on for Sims 4. This place looks like it was created after the model of a real horror movie. Of course, the main characters in which are vampires. You can see right away that the development team really tried and presented Forgotten Hollow with a special mysterious atmosphere. There is everything that the soul can wish for: a thick fog, flocks of bats, and even a cemetery with graves. It is noteworthy that the city is surrounded by high cliffs, and the day in time is much shorter than the standard.
The territory of Forgotten Hollow is not very large, there are two occupied plots and three free for settlement. Who already lives in this city? One house belongs to the Vatore family - good vampires who do not use human blood. The second site belongs to Vladislaus Straud - a powerful vampire who often helps newborns and preys on people walking at night.
There are no public places in Forgotten Hollow, but in the very center there is a large park where you can walk and make acquaintances. And there is also a high probability of becoming the prey of some aggressive vampire, so it is recommended to be careful at night. In the park, the sim is without additional loads.
Innovations in the character editor: creating a vampire
Along with the addition, a number of unique features appear in Sims 4 that help diversify the gameplay. So, all converted characters have a dark side, which has two images: identical to normal appearance and altered.
For convenient editing, the game provides built-in ready-made vampire archetypes. There are eight of them, and each of them can be changed to your taste. If you don’t really like the appearance of archetypes, then you can try to create your own vampire sim. Especially for this task, the developers prepared additional appearance parameters:
- special eyebrows;
- leather;
- vampire eyes;
- eye sockets;
- cheeks;
- mouth;
- fangs.
Vampires in Sims 4 can be completely different! Thanks to the above parameters, you can safely experiment with your ward and create the most unique features. The face of the sim can easily become covered with cracks and folds, bruises and cuts. Even vampire fangs vary in shape and style, which is good news.

On the changed character face editor, surprises do not end there. Players get new hairstyles for female characters of all ages. Hair is very different in style: from long and gothic curls to modern and short haircuts. As for men, then the developers were generous with only one new hairstyle. Also new to The Sims 4: Vampires, you can choose between extra hats, make-up, and accessories.
Sims have three additional life goals:

To fill this scale, it is necessary to practice the skills of dark meditation or to fall asleep on time, for example, in a special coffin. Vampire energy is wasted when a sim comes into sunlight, or while using abilities.
- Vampire thirst - this scale is related to blood consumption. The player can ask another sim to give himself a bite voluntarily, or to get this necessary nectar by force. Also, the use of special packages with blood, which are ordered via the Internet, and eating bloody fruits helps to fight thirst. As for ordinary food, it is suitable for consumption, however, with one nuance - often after meals a sim can feel nauseous.
Vampire life span
The existence of inverted characters is very different from simple sims. Of course, this also applies to the growing scale, which is painted in gray and indicates immortality. Is it then worth fearing death? Of course it’s worth it, since for all their immortality, vampires can still be killed. The main danger for them is the sun. If a converted character goes outside in the daytime, then his vampiric energy disappears right before his eyes. If you do not hide in the shade on time, then the sim can burn after the energy.
However, this does not mean at all that, turning into a bloodsucker, the player will have to forget forever about walking under the warm sun. The Sim can acquire special immunity, which will become available after pumping the appropriate skills and abilities in "Sims 4: Vampires."
The appeal process: how it works
How to make a vampire in Sims 4? This is perhaps the most important question that worries any player who has installed the add-on. In order for the sim to turn into a night creature, there are several ways to use it:
- Make a vampire using the character editor. This method is considered one of the easiest. It also allows you to immediately create a whole vampire family, whose appearance and characters will suit the taste of a particular player. It is worth remembering that in this case you won’t be able to play with an ordinary character, since you will have to make a sim a vampire initially. This method is not entirely convenient if the user is used to playing downloaded skins.
- You can turn your character with the help of another vampire, if you make a trusting friendship with him. This method only works if the special transformation skill is available. By the way, playing for a sim, who himself is a vampire, you can freely turn other characters, with the exception of only children. In this, the development team gave the player greater freedom of action. The treatment period itself lasts for several days with constantly changing mood indicators (mudlets). The new vampire has no abilities and skills. In order to fill the gaps, you will have to study the relevant information from additional sources.
- Some sims may be born as vampires. The absolute probability of such an outcome becomes possible if the parents are converted. In this case, the chances are reduced by half if the family consists of one vampire and one person.
- There is another way that will help turn a sim into a vampire - codes for Sims 4. This way you can save a lot of time and change at any time in the game. For this method, you will have to use the console, which is called by pressing the combination of three keys Ctrl + Shift + C. After that, enter testingcheats / true (do not forget to remove the slash symbol) and stats.set / stat commodity / BecomingVampire 2160 (here we replace the "/" sign with "_"). This code will start the standard sim handling process. If you want to become a vampire instantly, then type traits.equip / trait trait / OccultVampire (here the same replacement as in the previous version).
Vampire Ability Points in Sims 4
As we have already said, new converts cannot do anything. However, do not worry, because it is fixable. The vampire abilities in The Sims 4 are truly amazing in their variety. If you perform special tasks, then the sim will earn special points, with the help of which various skills are opened. What can a converted character learn? For example, teleportation in the form of a cloud of fog, the influence on the mood of ordinary sims, the ability to hypnotize, the ability to penetrate into other people's homes and much more. Not without weaknesses that every vampire should have: increased thirst, hiss, and more.
New skills
With the new addition, vampire sims can diversify their free time. Two unique skills help them in this: playing a musical organ and vampirism. If everything is clear with the first, then the second is worth a little talk. Thanks to vampirism, a sim can read special encyclopedias, learn a lot of useful information about creating a medicine, and make delicious cocktails.
What has changed in construction mode
Together with the addition, players receive many new items that contribute to creating a real vampire atmosphere. Now a happy sim can get their own musical organ, gravestone and coffin. Houses in "Sims 4: Vampires" are decorated with cobwebs, decorated with different holes and scuffs. With the help of new items you can turn even the simplest housing into a real Gothic mansion. Particularly creative players can go further and create a huge creepy castle.
