Salt Lake

In the village of Antonovka, Kegichevsky district, there is perhaps the most unique attraction of the Kharkov region - Salt Lake. The name here is fully consistent with the essence: the water in the lake is really salty! The reservoir was formed due to gas production. Once upon a time they began to drill a deep well, but stumbled upon a powerful salt lens. As a result of a gas explosion, all technical equipment went underground, and a lake appeared in the place of the well - with salt water. Locals are sure that it has no bottom.

In the Zmiev district there is a tiny but very old village of Vodyanoye with a population of 300 people. Here is an Orthodox shrine - the Boris and Gleb Monastery with the eponymous temple, built in 1905. On the territory of the now defunct village called Globovka, there is another unique object - the so-called Singing Terraces. Who, when and why built them - is still not known exactly. The mystery of the object annually attracts the attention of thousands of tourists.

Singing terraces is a building of six brick walls built on the slope of a steep ravine. The arched construction of these walls enhances all sounds. A quiet whisper at one edge of the terrace is clearly audible on the opposite side at a distance of 60 meters.
