Violet acid or oxalis

Violet acid, or oxalis, is a perennial plant with many subspecies. This flower is currently very popular because it can be grown not only indoors, but also in the garden.

Purple sour

The plant has colorful foliage that attracts attention. She has two shades - purple and green.

Today, such varieties have already been bred in which it is painted simultaneously in both colors, which gives the culture a very elegant appearance.

Violet oxalis is known for its pink, yellow or white small flowers, which look incredibly attractive against a background of bright leaf cover. Moreover, the plant blooms for a long time, so it pleases the eye long enough.

Oxalis

At first, the oxalis throws an arrow, which, however, is no longer than its leaves, so it is not particularly striking. And only then an umbrella with an inflorescence appears on its top.

Some peoples believe that purple acidic brings happiness to the hearth. It is often presented as a New Year's gift. In our country, this plant is called the “butterfly flower” because its leaves are folded in the same way as a moth when the lighting changes.

Oxalis Violet Care
Oxalis needs to choose the right place. It has the peculiarity of folding its leaves at night or in cloudy gloomy weather, and in the light to open them. Therefore, the best place for sourness will be a place without an overabundance, but also without a lack of sunlight. In addition, in the dark, the decorative appearance of the flower is lost, and bright light leads to leaf burns.

Violet oxygen, the care of which is not particularly difficult, loves cool areas and requires regular watering. In nature, it lives on the banks of water bodies or in moist soils under the shade of trees.

This plant is very unpretentious, although some of its varieties have dormant periods during which the entire terrestrial part dies out. At this time, the ambient temperature should be low, about twelve degrees, which is almost impossible in an apartment. Therefore, such species grow better in gardens.

Oxalis purple breeding

In winter, watering of sour acid should be reduced, trying to maintain the soil in a slightly wet state. And in dry weather, violet sorrel loves a “warm shower” with boiled, settled water.

Feeding should be done every twenty days during its active growth. It is better not to abuse mineral complex fertilizers, since they are not particularly liked by the sour. In addition, you need to periodically loosen the soil so that top dressing reaches the roots.

For planting, sour violet prefers earthen mixtures consisting of sand with humus.

Oxalis at home
They pour out in a cache-pot, on the bottom of which pebbles are previously placed. The transplant is performed three years once for adults and one for young plants.

Violet oxygen, the reproduction of which is carried out using root cones, nodules, is resistant to pests. Planting material is laid out on the ground, and then covered with a centimeter layer of earth.

Under conditions of thickening, the flower does not grow very well, therefore, when planting, a ten-centimeter gap is left between the nodules. In this case, you need to know that the lush flowering of oxalis is associated with the timing of planting.
